I'm bitching about the game? No, I'm bitching that I just dropped $10 on an new expansion, you know, a place that you normally get to do quests to get stuff like this, but is there inventory in there? Nope. Instead it's included as a bonus in a plastic security device that I could give two shits less about.

And no I don't have mule that I pay for; and as for enjoyment of this game I'd rank it as one of the best games I have and still do play.

It's pretty obvious to me that SE is giving the extra inventory space as an extra incentive for people to protect their accounts.

No one is forcing you to get the thing. You forget that this is a bonus for an actually legit product they're offering. If they really wanted to be dicks they would just offer +inventory for a flat $10 fee and nothing more. That would be no better than RMT.

Oh, I'm going to buy it just like I've bought everything else they've put out. In fact, I've never had a problem with this stuff. Buy a CD, get a cool Piano. Buy a talisman, get a cool coat. No problem for me.

However, this is something the game has needed for a long time and the fact that the only way to get it is to pay $10 just screams micro transaction to me. I guess we should have dumped 10 bucks for every inventory upgrade we got, or storage. The game never needed a teleport coat nor a piano, but almost everyone needs inventory and square claimed it couldn't be done.

I'll be very happy with my extra inventory, but if you honestly think this isn't a cheap ploy by Square to basically ensure some easy cash at our expense, you're fooling yourself.

easy answer is : no because they do not own any of the rights to the game. where as 99% of any games sell shit for their game. think of one game in all of time that has not done something like this?

its their right as the ower of the game and trademark to sell anything for/with their game.

I've always felt another major space fixer was to make it so furnishings didn't actually take up Mog Safe space. Furnishings should get their own Furnishings/Layout "Inventory" section that matches your current Mog Safe.

I'm sure SE could figure out a way to implement that doesn't cause a mechanical failure with the current method.

Yes, please. I've been wanting this forever. I hate how being stylish in your mog house means you have to screw over your mog house space in the process. And no, the whole idea of getting storage for your furniture doesn't count when having 8 mannequins almost maxes you out on their own.

Do people that are against this also have an issue being forced to play $15 a month for a game they chose to play? If its worth it to you, pay it and if it isn't don't.

Sure SE knows what they are doing, and it's likely that people will buy it more for the space than the security. It is also beneficial to SE to have more people with increased account security on the back of it.

shit happens this can add something to help EVERYONE. its a nice way for SE to make some money off the game. and save money from people liek you who think they are safe.

odds are you are right that you wont get hacked. and odds are about 99% of the people will not get hacked. but as far as it stands this is/was such a big deal that SE had to throw more people at it(and money). you might be safe(or as close to it as you can get) but 50% of the other people who think they are safe are not. this just gives the people a reason to get it. a item that almost not one person can say no to.

i bet we could find on the forums a person who got their acc jaked from their best friend but hay that wont ever happen to you.

I might buy the token later in the future if its still available. I'm not really dieing for inventory space at the moment, and there's no telling what the next update will bring us. ;o

It's not a money thing, I don't care if the token is $10 or $100. What's so disturbing is that SE probably realized sales for these things would be lackluster, especially considering everyone on 360 or PS2/3 would have no real use for it. Then they came up with something tantalizing in-game to attach to it and make everyone want to buy it regardless of their need for a security token, something that (as has been repeated several times in this thread) could have easily been released with their three mini-expansions. It's a bullshit, reactionary solution to two separate problems of not giving players enough storage space, and anticipating slow sales of the token.

The point I'm trying to make is, the longer you play this game, the more a requirement it is to have more and more space. I haven't had more than 4 open inventory spaces in months and I've 'spring cleaned' about a thousand times. Forcing people to pay for something that honestly is 100% essential for some players seems sort of dumb. And I refuse to use mules to hold gear. I hate it when people spend 45 minutes collecting their gear and don't want to be one of them. As such, I suffer and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Now the only fix for that is to pay an extra ten bucks. I'm overjoyed, but still feel like I'm getting the shaft. It's a little like paying 10 bucks for yesterdays summoner fixes. I could see Tier 3 merit abilities be 3 bucks a piece, heh.

certainly, its their right to sell this with an added bonus, but i find it unethical. its clearly a little ploy to make a quick dollar off their drones-er, fans. I could do a ton with 80 extra inventory, but why do i have to buy a worthless device to get it? i do already pay money to play after all. it seems that everything in FFXI is becoming pay to play, i thought i just bought this WoTG expansion none too long ago, apparently its been sacked for what its worth already.

id rather the production time and money spent on these devices better spent into hiring a brutal HR crew that will roundhouse kick the devs in the face every time they think ninja is a balanced jerb

the idea of more space has come up in amlost all the interviews. and with this we see that the max invo we once saw is not true. SE said they have more ideas for space. by the next update we could have the *job sacks* for all we know making this almost not worth it.

i find this to be great. 2x space and we know that they are not at the limit.
thats a good thing if you ask me.
