Sure it does, because now there's a pretty good chance that people who don't want to pay for inventory aren't going to get any more for a good while. Those 10 extra gobbie bag spaces will be like ash in the mouths of those who don't want to plunk down 10 bucks.
This just in: Red Mage enspell II will proc every hit with multi hit weapons if you purchase a special square enix snow globe! Only $15!
im in ur thread, injectin mah negative thoughts. can you feel them yet?
Its rather obvious that they want you to switch to this security, it will basically cock block the RMT issue and account hacking a ton. That being the case, the only way to force the vast majority of the customers to switch is either give the tokens out for free (huge hit to SEs money) or make us buy them and give a rediclous reward for doing so in game(no loss to SE).
Its really a win win situation as a your getting a ton of security & double the space which I'm still just somehow thinking its an early April Fools joke >_> since its April 1st in Japan...
I've always wanted an "Account Locker" some block of 80 space where you can store anything that does not have an EX flag on it. Thing is that if you logout of character A, and login to character B (same account) you can see/access whatever is in that storage spot. Would no longer need to dbox for 30 min to move gear for special events from an alt. </pipe_dream>
I'm more concerned by the habit they are about to take to make you pay for every other thing they add into the game...
3 quests? 10$
Inventory space? 10$
It's like the opened the Pandora Box and loved what came up...
Let the fanboys buy their plastic talisman and enjoy their little gimmick in-game if you want.
But things like Quests, Inventory or I don't know what else is in the tubes (job Bags?), should be either included in the expensions, or given "for free" as they used to do.
Can I play without these new 80 inv. slots? Yes I can.
As much I could play FFXI with just RoZ.
And before the 73rd repetition of "Do you have mules? 1$/month, blablabla 10months blablabla". I don't say it's expensive. I just say the way to do it is not cool.
SE is paying for the tokens, the taxes, the shipping, the website to link accounts, and the maintenance to keep it available for future services. Yeah...they're totally throwing in the extra inventory because of all the money they're going to make off of these.
More proof that people will bitch about anything(including bitching about bitching).
Yep, we're clearly gonna pay $1 per AH transaction now. Do you guys who say shit like "they're charging us for x that should be added for free" or a variant of it realize how ridiculous it is to even think that's the case?
Has it been mentioned that SE is including such a huge reward for getting this because they want people to use this thing?
Think about it, yes, they are making money off of it, but the cost is so low that it can't really be seen as part of a money-making scheme.
What if it's part of a money-saving scheme? How much money does it cost them to have to deal with stolen accounts? How much time and effort do they have to put into reacting to stolen accounts.
What if the Mog Satchel is the reward that is too big for everyone to pass up, so that people have to use a much, much more effective form of security? How much does it save them by essentially forcing everyone to get these? It's not about making money on these things, it's about saving money on dealing with stolen accounts.
It's positive reinforcement, and I think it's a very good idea.
I just wonder, will it be like the inventory space that you can access at any time for gear swaps and so on? Or will it work like PUP attachments or MMM rune bags? Where you have to enter another menu and transfer between your inventory and satchel.
If you can access it at any time, I wonder how gear swaps will work? Will you have to tell XI which inventory to get it out of, or will XI just check which one has the gear you're asking for?
This is such a load of shit. Now we have to start paying for game functions that should have been fixed years ago?
Iventory issues is something SE said they "couldnt" fix for years due to memory limitations, now when they decide they can charge for it, it magically becomes easy to shit another 80 spots?
Fuck SE, fuck this game, Im tired of this extortion bullshit. First paying for fucking updates, now paying for fucking inventory space.
Well, if it's like the MMM rune bags or PUP attachments, then the memory issues aren't fixed. They just got around it..
Not that I'm excusing SE or anything..
