It scales based on what gobby bag you have, hence the 'up to 80 slots' portion of the notes.

In other news, since this is linked to your POL account, it seems each of your mules should get the same bonus... then a bunch of crazy people who really never throw anything away can save $2+ a month, and $24+ a year, etc, by spending $10 one time. Or waiting til they offer it for free in another year, but pay $24 until then.

I'm sure a lot of people would pay 10 bucks for the inventory without caring (although some people obviously have issues with this as well) but forcing the use of the token is just like having an account somewhere that has a policy along the lines of "PASSWORDS MUST BE AT LEAST 48 CHARACTERS LONG AND CONTAIN NO MORE THAN 3 LETTERS IN A ROW AND ALTERNATING CASES AND AT LEAST 10 NUMBERS 8 SYMBOLS AND 4 ARABIC CHARACTERS" (dramatic example, hush).

    [...]

All that being said, I'll probably just "upgrade" my security to one of the tokens, just for the inventory, and deal with the added hassles that come with it. But like many people, I'm going to be slightly resentful at basically being forced into it. Yeah, no one HAS to get it, but the way they're going about the incentive is pretty much making it absolutely unparalleled in comparison to not getting it, which goes back to feeling extorted.
Maybe you are smarter than most people, but you are in no way forced to do anything here. There is always the time tested and true method of just making more mules for your crap.

Stand back, and realize you have been given a glorious new option at ridiculous low price for the cost of implementation and lets not forget the BONUS in-game item you get for it. Then realize you are bitching about legitimate applicable progress in this game...

    ...let that sink in...

    ...and now slap yourself.

The problem is the shifting SE is showing to transform FFXI into that model. The game was never like this, now it seems SE is experimenting to see how that works for them and how people recieve it (judging by this thread, very well). And that is exactly why i'm disgusted, because of the shift.

Is it good for them? Well duh, it is, but why would I even care about that? I'm the paying costumer, not an employee of them.

Does that clear things for you or do you need some spelling before you go back to point that "real money trade" means buying stuff?
I don't care tbh and I quite honestly welcome it. Now hurry up and sell me a Ridill, SE. It's been way too long and I'm pretty sick of it.

I was gonna buy one just cause of the security, but the satchel is nice. That said, I refuse to detele my pigtailed taru mules even with this new inventory. They shall stay.

I'm not talking about 2 people. I said 20. Or 10. Or whatever. There aren't a lot of things I do as of late that really only have 2 tanks beating on a mob.. Dynamis, Einherjar, etc.. no, that's a lot of targets getting hit by AoE stuff.

Frankly, I get insulted when people tell me they need Silena/etc. Most of the time, unless I fucking sneezed or something when something went off and I completely missed it, I already know it. If I'm not casting on you immediately, there's a reason for it. Those are the instances you want your echo drops handy.

I do not find it "hard," I find lazyasses who can't take the time to bring things along for those instances that invariably happen annoying. I am a damn good WHM, goddammit, and I'm freakin' proud of my WHM, which is why I get insulted when I have people screaming at me for -na spells. But there are times when things just aren't going to line up right and you're not going to get your -na spell immediately. That's why you should have the echos if you're something that Silence hits in a particularly bad way (aka, a caster who needs spells available pretty much at all times (PLD, NIN, WHM, BRD, RDM) or are one who can cast those same -nas.

Don't tell me to quit playing my job of choice just because I expect everyone else I play alongside to put the same care and effort into doing events and whatnot as I do.
The things i ask for silena for etc the monsters only hit the person its attacking or any one in a to close to it and gets hit by Aoe. In that instance a whm better be doing there job >_>

This is not about whining, this is about making money, and making sure people buy this stupid hassel that they took time to make. They are just trying to make sure there investment will at least break even or make profit.

I am livid because I work in IT, I know security. I am well protected, and know how to avoid being attacked.

Sure I will admit even myself can be hacked, but I am willing to take that risk. But now I have to go buy this piece of shit just so I can have what they should just give to me for free.
Then you don't realize they're actually saving money more so than making it with this.

Probably all repost of repost of repost, etc.

I share account with one IRL friend, as we got into the game together. I'm ordering one for sure when its available, but, will only activate it if its reported that you can deactivate and go back to normal password after.

Going to suck if one of us uses it and couldn't log on without having to text/call the other... since we only use the accounts when the other is asleep/working.

Off(on?) topic, People claiming this is RMT are either stupid or trolls. I don't recall anybody complaining like this about the tidal talisman, but now that you can't get the same storage space as somebody else OMG its RMT.

Absolutely not. No one has ever been hacked without doing something to bring it on themselves. I do feel for the people who got keylogged back before we knew it was a threat, but these days, an intelligent person taking the correct precautions has a 0% chance of getting hacked. Account sharing is dumb, downloading third-party programs is dumb, visiting risky websites is dumb, and browsing without NoScript is dumb. Finally, I get that SE puts a lot of time into trying to retrieve accounts, but I personally feel that it shouldn't be SE's responsibility to hold someone's hand when they fuck up and get themselves hacked. Just my two cents.

It's amazing that you don't understand how stupid your argument is. Everyone knows a whm is supposed to get silence off you. But you are supposed to have echo drops as backup in case they can't.

What if they DC? What if a dog was humping their leg? You are just gonna die because of some circumstance that didn't allow the WHM to wipe silence off you like a noob or you gonna be a decent player, pop your drop and carry on?

You clearly choose the former cause you are a noob.

As far as people saying they are making money doing this, you are probably wrong. I imagine there is a huge cost to install the backend of this security system and the cost is probably minimized by the revenue generated by mass adoption of the security dongle. This is probably why they threw in the incentive, to spread adoption and minimize their expense on the backend by generating more revenue from it.

If this is the case, then you took a long ass-backwards way to get here. Therin did it in like two short, well-stated posts like three pages ago. I even agree with you in principle, it's just there's a lot of extra arguing going on for no reason.

Yeah, with all the tools we have at our disposal and enough common sense to not share accounts, it's all up to the individual.

Edit: With that said, noone is ever 100% safe. Anyone who thinks they are is retarded. This is how people get hacked, and it's how so many accidental babies are made. Choosing not to buy the new security token because you are 'safe enough' is just the most idiotic thing I've heard besides the token being RMT. The only people with a real excuse are the ones who either share accounts, or log in from multiple locations.

yet it seems that 1 out of every 5 people posting about "not fair" are the ones who have accounts shared. funny how that works. and when they get hacked because their friend is mad at them. they will go cry to SE.

hmm. To me this sounds like "There is NO WAY there is life on another planet. There is NO WAY there is a God.

You guys are pretty confident in things you can't possibly know for sure. In my opinion, anyone who browsers with No Script, Doesn't download 3rd party tools, and all the other "precautions" you list who DOESN'T get this token is just silly.

If you care about your account security, get it. If you don't care about your security... well..

    /sigh.
