There was also increased security and no fear of getting hacked and lots of cool technology in these security tokens. I didn't buy it for the increased inventory and call it a day.

In short, you are not paying for inventory space. You are paying for a security device with a bonus of inventory space to get you to buy it.

It doesn't work that way. Next fanfest people are gonna ask about people still having inventory problems and they'll just go "well buy a security token". This is a serious game fix given to only those that want to shell out cash for it. Bullshit.

People already pay more than the cost of the tag per month to play the game, and anyone serious about FFXI will be buying this item. It's clear that S-E wants you to buy this thing now with the inventory incentive.

If they wanted to profit, they would be charging more than 10 bones per unit. They could charge 20/ea and they would probably sell just as many units. Xanthe hit it on the head. They're most probably doing this to cut down on having to deal with the ppl whose accts get hacked. Theoretically, this should solve all of the problems associated with that.

Also, for the ppl who claim that this sucks with regards to sharing accts, isn't that against the ToS? So, obviously S-E isn't gonna even take that into consideration lol.

For me the bitching isn't so much about $10. I'd easily pay that for half the inventory space. My problem is that it has to get bundled with the token making it pretty much COMPULSORY to have one if you play the game enough. People need to stop going wah wah but you don't need to buy it! Because you fucking do. Inventory space is a huge issue and a flaw with the game.

Why does everyone have to get forced to use this security measure? I'm 100% certain it's going to cause me more trouble than it's worth for me personally. I'm awful at losing things all the time and I'm sure to misplace this fucking token and never be able to play again. On the other hand, I'm super security concious and take almost every precaution possible.
