    Then don't buy one.

The threat isn't really blown way out of proportion as much as it is very, very easy to be taken advantage of if you're careless or dumb. I'm sure a significant portion of the people that have ever been compromised weren't stupid, just careless, and a system such as this nearly eliminates both issues completely.

Recent interviews have suggested they will introduce more storage systems, which will be included in the monthly fees. There's nothing about this reward that suggests or implies there won't ever be additional storage systems implemented in the future.

And there's a significant difference between wearing a gas mask for an anthrax problem over 2000 miles away and entering 6 numbers every time you log in.

Have fun losing items because you randomly d/c before they lot and can't relog in time because your token fell under the desk and you had to find it! Because that's a hell of a lot more likely than getting hacked.

I'll deal with the 1% chance that I might be inconvenienced by having to call SE to recover my account because some RMT invented a godmode hack.

Are we all under the assumption that we must link the security token to our accounts to get access to the 80 inv spaces? Npt just purchase it and then enter a code?

Besides the mild annoyance of having to enter a password every time I open POL instead of letting it save one (obviously security outweighs this), it also means no one besides yourselves can login to your account. That's assuming again the SE token changes it's password every 60 seconds, the same as the ones i'm currently rolling out at work to VPN users..
Quite a big cost for 80 spots. I'll definitly get it for my main, seeing as my friends rarely if ever login on me, but alot of us use each others mules/mains for camping and dual/tri boxing. Is 80 inv worth making that impossible?

If someone is going to call everyone that got hacked an idiot then I'm sure as hell going to call him on it, a large majority of the people had no reason to expect to be hacked

I hope everyone you're sharing your password with has top notch security on their computers, Kerb

+80 inv to my main, and +50 to my mules? SIGN ME THE FUCK UP.

But, I really hope this can be disabled. My LS keeps a farming mule around and it would be a godsend to have the inv space, but the account is shared by so many people, the token would be impossible to get to when I'm at school.

I think the address on my account is my original address before I moved halfway across the world. ><;; Someone say that can be changed.

I wonder why they couldn't charge to your payment method on file, my US version accounts accept Korean credit cards for payment now (changed about a year ago since didn't want to keep transferring cash to the US to pay on my US credit card). I know you have to be on the correct POL version for your kind of account to change membership information, but ordering tickets/tokens could just use your card on file and ship to an address you could type in...

    Hmmm....
The system wouldn't let you get that far. You could do the preliminary parts but as soon as you tried to confirm the order and payment, it had to access your membership information for billing. It can't do that without getting into that same part of the system that you use to change membership info or even just look at it.

When I talked with SE, they tried to come up with a variety of solutions. One of the first things they asked was if I had a separate Japanese account that could be used and transfer the ticket rights to that account. Since I don't, they ended up sending me a bill and I wired (furikomi'd) the funds to them to pay for the tickets.

Back to the tokens.... I can understand why they chose to go through POL but I'm kinda bummed. I was hoping the ordering would be similar to the Tidal Talisman so I could purchase one here. Now, I'm gonna have to order it and then have somebody from home send it to me. It's worth the inventory space. Normally I wouldn't care so much about the security password part since I'm a PS2 user but... lately I've been doing more screenshots/etc on my PC so I guess it's better safe than sorry.

I want the token myself, and I want them to address the problems with inventory, but plenty of people who don't need/never wanted the former will end up buying it for the latter. I'm just wondering where they're gonna draw the line of tying this shit together.

Furthermore, people have been giving SE money for inventory space for years. Mules cost 1 to 13 dollars a month (depending if you want it off-character or not) for a default of 80 inventory spaces. This offer is giving 80 inventory spaces for all associated characters for a flat fee of 10 dollars. Spread that across 10 months worth of subscription and it's down to the same price as one mule. Spread it further and it drops to cents a month.

Plus you get a neat little electronic gadget that comes with it.
    Stereotypes are a real time-saver.

The difference in your example is that when you pay for a mule every month, there are no strings attached. You know exactly what you're paying for, there's no extra fun little bonuses. In this case, you're supposed to be buying a $10 security token, not $10 worth of inventory space plus a little electronic gadget.

    In summation:
The $10 security token is a great idea, worth-while, and a bargain.
Adding 80 inventory spaces is also a good thing.
Making you buy one to get the other is the latest in SE's trend of making you pay for stuff in-game, which I think is bullshit.

Well, the bottom line is there doesn't seem to be any pre-order thing going on and the Mog Satchel will be supported through this process for quite some time. So, if you aren't sure just wait until SE releases more details, or until people get a hold of it and test it out to see if it will work for you.

If i doesn't I'm sure SE will hear enough complaints from people in the same situation as you to fix the problem.

I still think they have every intent on making this very widely available. Even their EU site is updated for purchasing this with both Euros and Pounds.

If you live somewhere where they don't even market FFXI, you might have to do a little extra legwork using a 3rd party mailer, but all you do is pay an extra shipping fee, and they'll work it out for you.

I'm sure it will work out for everyone. If anyone really needed help with this, I'd even offer to mail it to them wherever they are. I'll tell you what it costs to ship it from my address, and you just pay for it. Makes no difference to me if you're paying for it.

Is the Token expensive? hell no.
Is it worth it to spend 10 bucks on such a tool? Imo, yes.

Now, should you have to pay real $$$ besides of your monthly fee for something that has needed to be adressed for years? I'd say no.

Call this QQ or w/e, and I will certainly end up buying this if there's no other way to get these extra 80 slots.

But I hate this new trend to have to pay aside of the monthly fees for in-game almost-mandatory tools. (I don't include expensions here)
    What will be next?

    10$ for a new UI?
10$ to have salvage droprate fixed?
    10$ to have kings fixed?
10$ for next Mog Bonanza maybe?

EDIT: Well, Bregor explains exactly how I feel and with a better English

For those of you hoping to buy this, get the extra slots, then never use the token, it doesn't seem to work that way so I hope you either decide against the token, or just bite the bullet and be happy for once.

Was I the only one who pictured a moogle playing COD4 when they read Mog Satchel? >_>; I understand it also describes a tote bag, but I had this great image of a moogle planting the bomb and flying out as it explodes yelling "KUPOOOOO!!" heh.

Replaying old interview in my head where I thought I heard "PS2 limitations" come out of their mouth when asked about inventory space. . .
