...I just can't stop lulzing at the Superman shirt young!Chuck was wearing.

    I C WAT U DID THAR.

    Seriously though, that was EXCELLENT.

Also, as far as Chuck not remembering the childhood intersect; he barely remembered the first one, in the pilot! It scrambles your brain pretty good, as far as I've understood, and what did he really see as a kid? A bunch of images flashing? Doesn't sound that special to me. It's special because we know the context of those images.

Fantastic episodes. How many of you guys kept talking to the screen telling Chuck to kill Shaw? I sure did!

I enjoyed the Yvonne hotness for the season finale since it will probably be a while before the show is back.

I assumed the intersect as a kid was just a test and that it didn't contain any secrets or anything.

So Fulcrum was done and we found out they were a small faction of The Ring. Now The Ring is done and we still haven't found out what their goals were. I'm assuming this even larger organization his mother is involved with controls both The Ring and Fulcrum... just hope we find out what they're after.

I think the initial download as a child was still in the very early stages, it probably didn't really contain any real data, so no flashes. Although it wasn't exactly explained in Dollhouse, but they "installed" architecture into the dolls to make them able to be dolls. I imagine it in this way, the childhood event laid the groundwork to allow him to be the perfect candidate for the 1.0 intersect.

On the part with the mom, I want to think that she's captured or working against her will, but then the phone call would sound different, unless I'm reading into it too much. It reminds me of Michael Scofield's mom in Prison Break though. Through the show, sometimes she seemed good, sometimes bad.

I kinda assumed him getting that Intersect Zero as a kid made him more tech inclined. His dad said something like "you just absorbed an incredible amount of data" or something like that. They didn't really elaborate on it but in my mind it might've laid the ground work for him being good with computers and stuff as an adult.

Like it was the basis of his intelligence, beyond the obvious genetics? I guess I could see that, or like it was mentioned above, that it laid the groundwork for his brain to be able to function better with an intersect.

That makes the most sense, laying the groundwork - but without seeing the effects on Shaw (he had the intersect for all of 2 episodes) its hard to know if Chuck IS the best intersect or whether he needed to have the groundwork laid down or not.

Best season finale I've seen of the shows I watch, I love how all the characters are changing and evolving. Much better than the return to status quo most shows try to pull (including early Chuck).

This is the first show in a long, long time that, when it's done, I'll sit and watch the entire series over again. Unlike Lost, of which I will never rewatch a single second.

You know... I still haven't seen a full 20 minutes of lost. EVER.

I rewatch different series every once in a while, Life, Chuck, Nowhere Man, BSG. Unless I marathon the entire 6 seasons, I probably wouldn't bother trying to rewatch Lost. However, I have seen the pilot episode dozens of times. I remember watching it before the series came out because it was leaked. Chuck definitely has an easier story to follow and enjoy though.

Oh, did anyone notice that the CIA building they used in the finale was the same as the FBI building for Flash Forward?

The more I've thought about this, the more I agree and enjoy this, as well. Morgan in this season's finale for instance, versus Morgan when the show started are miles apart. They still managed to use him for comic relief, his lines are light and the whole detonator thing was lulz, but he also clearly understood the gravity of the situation, which especially the thumb thing showed, I think.

And may I just re-state that I am thrilled Casey's been doing more than hover in the background and grunt this season.

In the Childhood scene, Chuck's dad says he "Processed an incredible amount of data." That he was so surprised about it likely means that it wasn't any sort of "groundwork". If you remember when Fulcrum was testing their own Intersect on people, recall that they couldn't find anyone that was able to survive the process. This is why Chuck is "special".

Nothing about that flashback served to explain why he was suddenly ok to fight Shaw. Something about how he had to "reboot", but absolutely nothing relevant to that was mentioned in the flashback. I think the writers must have gotten stoned and forgot what it was they were supposed to be explaining then the editors just assumed that it was over their head and figured that it was probably right (like when someone speaks confidently and throws out a bunch of techno-babble, most people will just smile and nod and pretend to understand).

As for Chuck's Mom- most obvious plot development in the world. In fact, I said it ~2 months, and 3 pages ago.

They could easily end the show right here if they wanted to. The only problem that Chuck really has left is that Elle is still out of the loop and he has to hide his spy life from her.

I suppose the next logical step is that we'll find out that his mother is/was involved with some espionage faction or another. I mean come on, it's inevitable.

But the intersect likely wasn't finished when Chuck downloaded it as a kid, though I don't doubt that wouldn't have had a serious effect on anyone else. When Chuck got the real intersect as an adult he flipped out and shit. As a kid he hardly flinched, while there's no evidence of anything yet (due to writers) I'm mostly inclined to believe it was just a set up or test, that Chuck being able to handle the intersect at a young age was proof that he could handle the 2.0 fucking him up (at the time which was the most relevant thing).

The "reboot" was likely just a motivational push, rather than anything scientific (since the flashback went to recent events and not just the childhood scene) that helped him. And yes, Chuck's mum being a spy was pretty obvious, they've been setting up the spy relationships for a while now.

news form comic-con, may be a bit spoilery
    Spoiler: show
the big news portion of the videos was the reveal of who is playing Chuck's mom this season… Linda Hamilton! This was revealed via a video of Hamilton during her iconic first scene in T2, when she turned towards the camera – and suffice to say, the audience went crazy learning Sarah-Freaking-Conner is Chuck Bartowski's mom.

During the panel, co-creator/executive producer Josh Schwartz said, "That's really going to be a huge part of this season - The search for mom. How Chuck's going to navigate that is going to drive so much of Season 4."

While Season 3 ended with Chuck no longer in the CIA and his friends apparently no longer working with him, Schwartz said, "Chuck and Morgan are going to be a pretty bad but good spy team." Said co-creator/executive producer Chris Fedak, "Josh and I and the writers as well as the cast really like Operation Bartowski. We want to see them back together and doing cool things."

Discussing the casting of Hamilton as Mary Bartowski, Schwartz explained that looking at what fans were saying about potential actresses, "That was somebody we saw there was a lot of excitement for," noting that when it comes to casting a lot of the roles on Chuck, they ponder, "If Chuck and Morgan were real people, who would they be excited about playing these parts? Linda Hamilton has been such an icon as far as that action, female, bad ass mom. She was [exactly] what we were looking for."

Schwartz said there was so much talk about Hamilton playing Mary that before she'd been cast, Hamilton told them, "So I hear I'm Chuck's mom." As Schwartz put it, "You don't want to say no to Linda Hamilton." We will see a glimpse of Mary in episode 1 of the season, as Chuck begins his search for her.

On the casting front, besides the previously announced Dolph Lundgren and Olivia Munn, it was revealed that Nicole Richie and Steve Austin will be returning. And another guest star was announced – none other than Isaiah Mustafa, the star of those incredibly awesome recent Old Spice commercials.

Schwartz and Fedak revealed that while the Buy More will be back in Season 4, it will now be owned and operated by the CIA – and that's where Munn and Mustafa's characters come in. Munn will be introduced as a CIA operative/"Buy More Executive" named Greta, but we quickly learn that's a code name. In fact, as Schwartz put it, "Every week we'll have a new Greta. Whether it's a man or female, it's a Greta," and that's who Mustafa plays in the second episode, with other guest Gretas still to be cast.

As for fans unhappy with the Daniel Shaw storyline last season, particularly the middle of the season, when Shaw and Sarah were in a relationship, Schwartz said, "We've learned about putting people between Chuck and Sarah," and told the Chuck/Sarah fans, "This year you will be very happy."

The producers also revealed that despite the events at the end of Season 3, Jeff and Lester are "a huge part of the show. We can promise you they will be back." In the meantime, where are the two, now that they're wanted men? Joked Schwartz, "No doubt Lester is hooking."

Also look for Chuck to once again be keeping secrets from Ellie, as he tries to keep his promise to not be a spy anymore, only to begin the search for their mother behind her back. It was also revealed that we'll be seeing more of John Casey's daughter, as Adam Baldwin joked about how Casey's little girl was able to beat him up pretty good last season.
