Chuck is definitely not a show anyone should get too serious over. The only forums/analysis of the show I read are this forum's thread and the AV Club reviews, which are pretty spot on. And one of those reviews (of the S2 finale I think) made a point that the show is best enjoyed when you don't think too hard about it. That seems like a slight against it, but it doesn't have to be. I won't be committing too much time to predicting what S5 holds, since I'm guessing the writers don't have it set in stone yet anyway. Or even penciled in - I remember seeing a Comic Con panel between S2 and S3 with the writers basically asking for ideas that anyone might have (as well as a hilarious bit about possible action figures: Chuck Comic Con 09). So I'll just wait till the fall and watch what they come up with.
See, that's what I mean. I wish people wouldn't be so serious mode over the time skips, or the concept of time at all.. or how things don't match up as far as mythology goes. Not everyone's gonna be perfectly spot on as far as that goes. It's just way too hard, especially nowadays. I've never taken Chuck seriously. I watch for the characters, the growth.. the changes. Not the spy stuff or action stuff. Though I do love when Chuck goes badass smart mode.

Right, I miscounted the seasons. I was watching episodes like crazy to try to get caught up to the episode currently being aired, and finally caught up for the finale. My point still stands that the Intersect got dumbed down once Orion entered the series. It's not a criticism of the show in any way, and it's not like I was trying to question the technical validity of it.
As far as the Chuck fandom goes, there are some pretty fanatical people who love this show. Just check out the forums on Nerdmachine. On the one hand, Chuck is definitely not a show that the viewer should take as "real". For one, it's a bit much to even think that the CIA operates anything like how Chuck portrays it. Then again, it's because of these types of fans that Chuck has been saved season after season.
As what was already been said, Chuck is probably best watched as a what you see is what you get type of series. I'd think it's main appeal lie in the character growth of the 4 main members of Team Bartowski (plus the antics of Jeffster and now Big Mike haha). This is why in a way I was disappointed when Chuck and Sarah finally got together. It was the obvious next step for their relationship, but the chemistry between the characters got a lot less interesting once they became a couple and became cliché, IMO.
To me, there's some *really* good Chuck and Sarah episodes.. but then there's a few that are meh. There was a part of the season (I think during the bit with the prenup) where Yvonne was actually sick so that's why there was no actual kiss scene through the whole ep. That and some of the writers just don't really know how to write them. "Seduction Impossible" was one I thought was *realy*good for the pair, though. I still think they have a lot of chemistry.. it's just dependent on who's writing the eps.
In a positive news moment, Ali Adler is coming back for S5. She was a fan favorite from S1/S2 writing.

Morgan is awesome. He's the lovable loser character. While Jeffster are the unlovable losers...
I would have preferred that no one got the intersect moving forward. But oh well. It will be interesting to see what Chuck does moving forward without it, since it basically brought him up to Sarah's and Casey's level.

I got into this show this summer and just caught up to the end. It was really good! Can't wait for season 5. Sad it's only 13 episodes and the last one though![]()
Well, at least his eyes are up top.
