In that very comic they stated that if Wade had his head off for too long he'd actually really die. Considering I don't see a rescue team digging around in that nuclear power plant under all those tons of rubble trying to get his shit together, it looks like he's dead. Plus Deadpool in the comics was cursed with life by Thanos since he was hitting on Death, and is technically immortal, although that was a long time ago, and writers don't normally take that into account much anymore.

My primary reason for posting that was to point out to the guy I quoted that decapitation isn't guaranteed to kill Deadpool.

Now as for comparing a movie to the real comic, while what you say my be true, I doubt hollywood cares about any of what you just said. Of course as you said, you already realized they won't take that stuff into account. I'm sure the thought process was something like this:

"Deadpool can have his head cut off and we can possibly bring him back or leave him dead? Thats all I need to hear!"

I have a horrible admission, I will see this movie, just because of that fucking stupid scene where he rides the motorcycle past the hummer/claws it, then gets launched into the air and kills a motherfucking helicopter.

It's so stupid, it comes full circle, and goes back to being awesome all over again.

The only thing that made this movie bearable was Jackman and subsequently Schreiber to an extent. Schreiber was entirely underutilized in this film, one of the greatest actors in the world and they waste his talents. They should have taken a hint from whoever the fuck directed spiderman 2

Schreiber is very endearing. Dunno why. He's an amazing actor. He needs more roles. Reminds me of those throwback leading man type actors.

I think the reason why this movie failed so hard is that they had to give Jackman as much screen-time as possible otherwise it wouldn't be sellable.

That's their fault because it's fucking WOLVERINE! People would have watched this movie regardless.

Instead they sped past the best parts of the origin story.

I think ultimately marketing > faithful to the story.

Kind of makes you appreciate Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Although, the studio execs must have realized that they crapped up the franchise enough and they wanted to try a new style (the not sucking kind).

But Jackman is awesome as Wolverine. He deserved a better storyline.

I just don't understand why, when you have a built in audience, you don't work to meet those expectations. As soon as you say Wolverine movie you have a line of people waiting to see it who would know exactly what to be looking for. Do you need to take liberties in an adaptation? Absolutely. Nobody expects a direct translation, but the changes they made are going to make no sense to the built in audience and most likely disgruntle them. Nobody is saying this movie is poor because we're just dying for attention or we're so enslaved to the source material nothing else will do. We're saying it because it's true.
