Xbox 360 controller issues

Hey im trying to configure my xbox 360 controller to play on my pc version but i cant get the trigger buttons to configure at all, ive tried downloading xpadder but it wont let me use the triggers as macro buttons, and ive tried downloading xbcd+ and xbcd. I used to be on a 32bit vista OP and xbcd+ used to work fine.
Now im on 64 bit vista and it just doesnt seem to work.

Mind sharing what you did? I've been using xpadder and mapping CTRL/ALT to triggers. I hate to have to hold down the triggers while I try and select the macro.

I cant remember the sites i looked on so ill try to find em tomorrow its 6am now lol hopefully ill find em again. All i do remember is its a pain in the ass to get it working it took me like 4hours.
