Well, I'm not so much a 'career WHM' as I am 'a good support person' who happens to have done WHM first, but am also used as BRD, BLM, RDM regularly in both smaller events and larger camps and events, and occasionally needed to come on NIN for tanking. So really, both and either would be good for me, and the Maat's Cap would definitely be a lot more personal, but I threw it in as a choice, since it's something I've thought about for a while anyway, and if it really seemed money was too much of an obstacle for me, it would be an option.

The biggest thing with either a relic or a mythic is yes, I need to find a way to get funds, which requires a lot of dedication and time and you know, thinking.

Hmm... then I would go for Yagrush, you said your LS already has 2 Gjalla-BRDs right? Do you all really need a 3rd? I am asking, because potentially, your LS could benefit more from the 1st Yagrush-WHM then from the 3rd Gjalla-BRD, and since you don't seems to mind going WHM either... =)

And also, are you sure your LS will not partially help you in finishing it (whatever it will be both Horn and Paddle are beneficial to the other members)? Then again, it depends on how 'long term' you want your goal to be, and if I understood your financial situation correctly:

- Very long => Self-funded
- Reasonably long => Partially LS-funded

If you go for the 1st option, then me and you should pray that SE doesn't shut the servers down before we reach the end of the road. =)

The two gjalla BRDs are both JP, and I am NA - I also run Dynamis with an entirely different shell. And at this point, with most of my other NA peers in the LS having been banned in the Salvage wipe, I'm unsure of my future with the LS. It is pretty much all entirely a self-satisfying goal.

b) maat's cap - downside here is twofold - i have no desire whatsoever to play war, drk, mnk, or rng; but i'm also the type who would NOT be able to stand to not be well geared on any job I level, and I would easily kill myself by drowning in gear.

Oh and yea is more of an achivement piece more than a must have piece,
WS only for dd and a lot of better heads out there for mages.

If u pull a Jagha i will slap u. Lol. I suggested the cannon for her corsair but she said no to me on Vent. If you want to put in the work and money I would go for Yagrush. If that's too much work, i suggest Amano.

I think Yagrush would be the best option. Not many have it, so being one of the few to have it would be more rewarding than a relic which many have at this point. Plus it's rather useful for one of the jobs you enjoy and can be fun to toy around with.

How far along the path to Yagrush would you be naturally? I assume you'd have most of the titles/points?

I'd not bother with Maat's cap as a main goal. Right now Yagrush is very shiny and new and there's a lot of interest in it. If you had support to do it, I'd do that. Upgrading the horn might be easier.

I'm actually pretty behind on titles etc for a Mythic - as stated earlier, the NA side of my LS has been on a downward slope, and then we got hit with Salvage bannings. To give you an idea of just how far behind I'd be in Salvage, the exploit was used a whopping like, 3x in four total runs, over the span of about 5 months. So yeah. I think I'm really only missing one chariot, but I still haven't been to an Odin fight, and have been able to inspire very little interest in ToAU beastmen king fights, etc. Of course I could push that once I decide what precisely to do. I'd have to do all Assaults again entirely. I have a small-sized collection (well, that's relative of course, small in comparison to how much you actually need) of Alexandrite started some time ago that I've been shoving on a mule, so that if I change my mind I can just sell them.

Horn, I do already have the attestation, and I have a very solid Dynamis shell so that wouldn't be a difficulty.

Maat's Cap would just mean I have to level a lot.

If you really want a long term goal, work on getting all of them!

If that's not likely, then a reasoned analysis shows ghorn is the best among them. On the flip side, you could work for a brd mythic weapon as well.

If you wanted to do damage, an amano would be the more logical choice over a mjollnir, putting the amusement factor of Izzy Jr. aside.

Lastly, I don't think Esuna will totally put Yag aside; at worst, Esuna will most likely cost more mp, as it's removing multiple status effects. But it will end up being a minor upgrade at best; a macro piece to save a bit of mp.

So, if you want to get the most from your time and money spent, ghorn, amano, and carnwenhan would be the top 3. Ghorn in particular, is absolutely broken.

Plus, given the resources you have at your disposal now, the Horn seems to be the most realistic thing you might achieve (solid Dynamis LinkShell VS not-so-solid Assault/Salvage group).

I don't own a relic/mythic, and have shut down all plans to ever consider getting one, just because of the time needed and gil required. So my opinion might just be useless..................... BUT............

The one thing people forget about going for Maat's Cap is the seals you get while leveling. Getting lucky on either of the big two (Wyrm KSNM and KC BCNM 60) funds a very nice chunk of whatever relic you choose to pursue. Also, while the Wyrm KSNM loot pool distribution works different from group to group (Your orb your drop, evenly split, ect.), RDM/SCH can solo the KC BCNM60 with skill and meds. That allows you to keep all the profits if the KC drops at least, but a team effort is always fun too.

As far as relics go, you'd be welcome in any situation as a G-Horn BRD. If you're want to add even more of a commitment to a long-term goal, go for G-Horn and BRD Mythic, as the combo makes for some hot double sex (could even call that the "two girls at the same time" achievement of FFXI lol)
