I don't know how it works for Sams Clubs (fuck working in an actual store lol), but on the Distribution level I've seen so many people get hired back that either quit or got fired. It's totally up to the managers discretion I guess. But, your numbers have to be incredibly stellar or you have to be rather well liked to be let back in if you didn't leave on the best of terms.

The salary figures are believable, but the people that are making that kind of bank are basically giving their souls to Walmart for the cash. Working 15 hours or so a day and anywhere from 4-6 days is pretty common. There is also a shit ton of stress that goes along with the money. I've seen someone literally have a heart attack and code in the building once.

The several hundred K salary figure is likely hilariously wrong though. I highly doubt uneducated store managers would be pulling in larger amounts than a lot of people working at corporate.

You can pull in pretty decent money without selling your soul and becoming a manager. I pull in 40k a year and only work 4 days a week. I do have college education, but it's rather irrelevant for the work I do. I hate the job and company, but right now I'm glad to still be working at all.

They aren't doing all that on a beer truck delivery salary, that's for sure. I don't know how much they make, but I'm guessing that some of the people at wal-mart do bring home a nice chunk of change. They aren't bringing home 400k+ a year, I know, but her bringing home 70k+ sounds reasonable.
With the way people have treated credit in the past few years, someone having a nice car means virtually nothing, because they used to credit approve anyone for anything. And you can't make assumptions about income from the college either because people can get financial aid, scholarships etc. I went to a private school that 10 years ago ran 20k+ a year and had friends that were paying less than a quarter of that.

you may be right, I'm not saying you aren't. But those are just bad indicators because everyone was walking around thinking everyone had lots of money and thats in large part why we're in this economic situation- folks didn't spend every penny they made, they spent MORE than every penny they made.
