Ive been with them, not really impressive. Its obviously the best GS, my comment about nag was more of a cheap shot, with that said it isnt upping your dmg enough to really make a jaw drop. It's not going to let drk be smashing other jobs like other relics. It actually just makes them on paar with good sams, wars, scyth drks ... well you get the point.

Imo for this to be worthy of 200m you need dmg 98, delay up to where you dont need tp in aurum. And have the crit hits add something like 50 dmg over regular crits base. That would give it enough to be comparable with the rest of the big dd relics. Even then though id still take nearly any of them over this beefed version.

also who uses drk at HNMS anymore unless its zerg? I mean ya we can split hairs all day but honestly idk many hardcore drks with the ability to attain a relic who dont have multiple better hnm jobs.....

If you're actually insistent on using DRK then Great Sword is excellent for certain situations. One big example is Dynamis Tav or Xarc, where you can easily average 800-1000 with Spinning Slash where Guillotine will average like 500 or 600 due to the crazy defense on demons. I can imagine Ragnarok being very impressive in those situations in terms of straight up damage numbers.

The issue is, Apoc really provides so much extra DoT from Catastrophe (plus survivability) that I doubt it would be remotely comparable. I love Great Sword and always will, but it's just not as good, and SE really should think about addressing that, to be honest (all that they'd need to do to make Ragnarok worthwhile is change Scourge so that it is exactly like Spinning Slash, except with +10-20% Critical Hit Rate aftermath).

We've been tanking alot of HNM with DRK lately and it is quite effective. Any job /nin can tank but DRK can cap and keep hate, do considerable damage and stun AoEs and stun to reup shadows.

No he's got a lot of truth in there. Demon defense in Xarc is really lame. Most of the time I end up switching back to gekko from kaiten, especially on the NMs.

Anytime you can't use Guillotine for decent returns, I think you are vastly overestimating the DoT increase from haste. Granted, haste is still very important for things like DynaDemons, but just so you can do a WS that ignores their insane defense as often as possible. I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if a GS drk demolished an Apoc drk on said demons.

Any half decent sam or war should easily be able to "cap and keep hate", and I'd be shocked if a drk could even come close to either job on damage. And other jobs have other tools to reup shadows (Third Eye is for all intents and purposes a guaranteed shield block) and better -PDT gear available.

Aside from doing damage as basically our only CE tool, and being really fragile when shadows go down (especially if zerked up), War gets the innate Voke and great +Enm options... but Voke isn't a hate tool.

Drk/Nin is a serious tank, War/Nin is a workable tank with good support and the ability to hit shit non-stop.

The line between serious tank and workable tank ends where you have to pull your weapon out to even begin to keep hate.


On topic: There is a Glanzfaust (Pocosan) on Carby waiting on Tyger's tail. Patte finished Tizona just recently, Hiroror has Kogarasumaru since early Sept, and Pock has had a Vajra for an unknown length of time.

There was a WAR (Yes, Warrior...) with an Ragnarok in Enigma on Garuda, before they all hopped server. He came WAR/NIN to Fafnir, and everyone always laughed at him. He didn't even have DRK leveled. It was hilarious.

Until we turned off filters. O_O

He was actually doing ridiculously good damage, ended up tanking almost every Fafnir/Nidhogg they claimed, and his weapon skills did consistently good (for Faf/Nid) damage, something like 750-900 damage each. Of course a decently geared SAM will be able to do all that and more, but, no DRK I've ever seen has been able to do damage like that with an Apoc, nonetheless this was a WAR, haha.

I have no idea why any of failures statements are even remotely surprising, tanking via damage alone is extremely common. He never never implied war or sam is a top tier tank, just as viable as a drk tank.

Would you like to know why Yoichinoyumi and Annihilator are so valuable? Its because dealing damage is a guaranteed way to get yourself to the top of the hate list without much effort.
