That's such an ignorant statement that it genuinely amazes me. The point of a cotank is to trade hate, no? And in the air, we trade hate more than we do on the ground. And there wasn't too much "nuking the shit out of it" with 9 people.

Your argument lost its footing when you said I wasn't doing real tanking by letting someone better equipped to handle Tiamat in the air handle it while it was in flight.

but you were the one bragging about tanking tia from 100%-0% without dying...

A. You didn't die because you didn't have hate and used a fire resist set (so you were just basically standing there and doing nothing while it was in the air).
B. You didn't tank it 100%-0%, you only tanked it 50% of the time.

sams dont rely on voke or warcry ;p. we depends on STR... on our ws macro lol. we spam over and over. and its easy to do like 700-800 with /war on mobs like Tia. and on Khim? he got def like a fuckin sea puk lol. you can break 1k w/o DA's. thats really how they do it. idk if you ever seen it, but it is kinda crazy. there was 1 time where it was on the air on me the entire time if me just idle'ing in my -magic dmg gear. was ironic because i was actually /drg and i didnt plan on tanking until one of our other tanks d/c

You probably missed it when he said he tanked Tiamat from 100%-0%.

As for khim, unless you can 3-4man it with amano in under 30 minutes, excal is still 1 of the most broken weapon in the game.

I was voking, but voke isn't enough every 30 seconds to keep hate glued to you compared to the Paladin, who can cure and flash while it's in the air. That's just the way it is. Keep pretending I never had hate in the air, your fantasy amuses me.

You're pretending the pld and you, and most likely your blm's/dd's weren't all capped on hate. A single flash after it's in the air and you will never get hate back until it lands. **edit bcos your hate decays and voke and warcry both do nothing for you hatewise

i see kandie's point though. if a pld does end up catching up to your hate in the air, its going to stick on them instead until it lands with your 300 TP ready. happened to me plenty of times lol. i was just mentioning one of the earlier flights where it was on my butt the entire time in the air. later on, pld/nin/rdm's will have been caught up to share it really good lol.

sams can solo tank it 100%-0 with GREAT support, and below 20% some luck on MS and seigan, but they also need good teamwork. when its in the air, they hold off on dmg until it lands again and work with him. you dont have to do that with a pld, nin or rdm tank. the moment my nin casts its 1st spell, i urge everyone to go nuts.

i never tried /drk, but my aegis friend and me went on fun jobs like that for JoL since hes boring anyways lol. if it was my turn to tank, i went on sam/rdm once and used seigan only for the AF's. my sam could get more magic dmg taken than my nin had and it was just as good lol. but thats JoL. any job subbing rdm could tank it. i never personally tried /drk, but im not a fan of /nin or anything that has to cast anything on sam. but thats my spoiled side kicking in. but i see your point. not like sams have to use voke when they are tanking on the ground anyway.

would be cool if someone tested that out <_>; god knows if i was playing, id get back to you in a week or so lol

The only reason that im wearing erk sword is my joyeuse has a excal dat swap for it. And i did use that sword with magic dmg -4% till i got Aegis for my mdb/ magic dmg down build.
