I quit playing BRD some time ago, but I honestly never noticed much of (if any) difference on Elegy with or without Earth Staff. Never really seen an honest discussion (with proof) about whether or not staves affect songs. Though they work on Ninjutsu so I suppose they should work with songs as well.

It's more for HNM stuff. On merit mobs, einher mobs and the like they probably won't ever resist you anyway. But, no reason not to go all out.

News to me, somebody confirm this? Also, how the hell did we figure this out given at most you'd see a .4 ACC difference? Looking at quite a bit of parsing to say this with any certainty.

It's not parsing, it's seeing when the evasion of a mob changes when you check it, as you add/remove accuracy equipment/merits.

You'd never notice the difference either way though... 200 + 104 * .9 = 293.6, 200 + 100 * .9 + 4 * .8 = 293.2. Results are floored, so you get the exact same result either way. You'd never see a difference if it is indeed .8 above 300 unless you were 7/8 in merits.

A side note to that, and something I've been talking to a friend about, but haven't tested yet; do you add the accuracy you get from DEX and skill together, or are they rounded down seperately? e.g: if your total skill is 292 and your total DEX is 82, using a 2hand weapon.. which of these 2 is it?:

• 282,8 + 61,5 = 344 total acc
• 282 + 61 = 343 total acc

I always believed it to be the first, but people here always sounds like it's the latter.

One way you can prove if it's .8, the other you cannot.
