Why would you want to 6-hit with a Ragnarok when a 7-hit Ragnarok gets TP faster than a 6-hit (insert any weapon besides GKT)?

Yeah there was a long discussion actually, I don't know if it was in this thread though concerning Rag's 7-hit being faster than Naglering specifically's 6-hit.

I did the math on it. It's faster than Naglering when you factor in the hitrate cap of 95%. Naglering is a tad bit faster assuming perfect hitrate. However, why the hell would you? Ragnarok honestly isn't that bad of a weapon for DRK on harder stuff, what's with the pDIF-boosting stuff (crits, Spinning Slash).

Well, yes, you're right, but if you could get a 6-hit without giving up anything too important, why wouldn't you?

Absolutely unreasonable, yeah. "6-hit" isn't some magical fucking wonderthing that solves puzzles and cures AIDS. A better phrase would be "appropriate x-hit"; for instance, 5-hit Ebow RNG/SAM, 6-hit Hagun SAM, 7-hit Love Halberd SAM, 20-hit THF.

Pretty sure it's been established a hundred thousand times that Ragnarok is the best Great Sword, beating Algol, Subduer, or 6-hit Naglering, but by such a narrow margin that the price tag makes it absurd. Correct me if I'm wrong, I admittedly stopped paying attention to the Ragnarok info some time ago.

More than this, the reason Ragnarok is looked upon as not-so-great is the fact that the jobs that can use it have better relic options at their disposal.
If Apocalypse or Bravura didn't exist you'd see a much higher of Ragnaroks around.

I always thought it was one of the more underestimated relics.

It's still the best greatsword and a Rag DRK can do some good dmg.

Useless is abit of a strong word for Aegis.

I was Spruck's WHM many times when I still played. He was perfectly fine tanking without Aegis. It helps for some things but really, not necessary if you're good.
