Not just Campaign - augments, FoV, add-on augments (ACP, MKdE, ASA), Sandworm gear (some of which is absolutely amazing, though SW's spawn conditions blow), Allied Note items (Iron Ram changed the way PLD operates quite a bit). . the list goes on. Starr is just, well, being Starr again.

All this hate towards Aegis, and I don't really understand why. I think everyone knows you don't need -any- relic to do anything in this game because, well, everything has been done a thousand times and it's now more of a mechanical process than anything else. Aegis is great in the proper hands, and there is no reason to bash it. If you're so concerned about kill speed that you think Excal is omgwtfbbq so much better than Aegis, you may as well zerg everything you fight, or just jump off the bandwagon and think with your own head.

How dense are you? Nobody thinks Aegis isn't a worthwhile item, its just a matter of bang for your buck. Aegis is, at best, a major boost for a sloppy tank and a minor improvement for a seasoned one. Excalibur is going to shine even in the hands of an already great paladin. At this point in the game, nobody needs more of a safety net for the fights they've already mastered, but any way to speed things up is a welcomed investment.

Honestly, I don't even know why is there an argument to begin with. Relics are toys nowadays, because of the way the game has evolved. Bashing a relic cause it doesn't let you kill a monster 5 minutes faster is about as dumb as bashing another relic for not giving you -25% MDT. Get over it, they are just toys that are useful in the proper hands, but they are by no means needed for anything. Even AV can be tanked without Aegis, and you can do anything melee-style without an Apoc or whatever. Relics just make easy things easier.

Edit: I do agree with your statement about Aegis being more of an improvement for a bad paladin than for a good one though.
