Love how the only truly 'wut' pieces of gear he's wearing are the belt (which could just be something he threw on in town) and the sword (which looks like an aesthetic town gear jobby to me), yet still everyone falls over one another in the race to bust his balls.

Gigant Mantle, Bomb Queen Ring, Askar Gambieras, Jelly Ring without D.Ring, Iron Ram hands for anything that isn't actively hitting you with magic. . his gear is horrible all around, really. The only decent things are his earrings, Aegis, Kaman+1, and Blood legs.

Absolutely. If that had been posting in the gimp thread in Media, people would be busting their nuts of the photo being town gear, telling the poster to enjoy their 3-day vacation, and maybe saying things like "did you check the belt for Augments?".

All of them are useful to a PLD in a way or another(gigant mantle is useful for cure-cheat macro unless he's got something better I guess?), and makes sense carrying them around.

I purposely mix pieces of gear in an apparently nonsensic way as my town equip.

Here's a tip: you don't judge someone's gear based on his town setup, you judge his gear sets when actively playing. You can only comment on the single pieces otherwise.

I'm not trying to justify the sword(even for aestethic purposes, I think it's the worst looking sword model in the game) or belt, though.

He's not getting hit with anything, he's in Whitegate you retard. Are people really unable to differentiate between using gear whilst actually playing the game and wearing a bunch of shit whilst running around town? I'm not claiming that he's a good tank or that he doesn't fulltime that stuff out in the field - how the fuck would I know? But it's still equally stupid for you to suggest that he sucks balls when you know as little about him as I do.

The concept of people purposely wearing shitty gear around town is mind-boggling to me, honestly. I can't see why you would WANT to look horrible if you're not.

Town gear should consist of good (or good-looking), rare, or expensive gear that you're showing off. My town gear on DRK includes Zahak's Mail and Bahamut's Mask, because I like the looks of both of these items. Why someone would town-gear something that costs 2k on the Auction House, is completely beyond me.

Alls I thought was that all the gear, including the sword, are rather dark on the character, and the shield, being gold and shiny, would kind of stand out more purely just speaking out of color's sake.
