You must suck at reading. Did you read the part where he said he sold her 15k Alexandrite for 2.7k a pop? That's 40.5m worth at his prices, he saved her just under 5m.

At 2k a pop she'd have paid 30m for them all. 15k is a legitimate chunk, it's not your friend handing you a few or a stack or two every now and then. It's half of the total requirement.

it's still a pretty mediocre price. the 5k i have now, less than 300 were bought at 3k apiece, and the vast majority were bought at 2k. I also have setups with another contender to sell or buy eachother's collection at a vast discount based on our progress, and a friend who is considering stopping and quitting, and handing me another 7-10k free of charge. there's ways around out there where you don't have to cough up more than 2.7, or if you do, it's not enough of a financial impact to force you to shit up your other gear.

No, they clearly have a shit Dragoon build, with an incoming Ryunoighe. Of this there is no doubt. When i was collecting hardcore you'd find 3k each for stacks of 99, and 10> for around 2.5-2.8. So yeah the server was basically around 3k a piece. NOW i've been seeing stacks go for 3.2+ up to 3.6k.

lolpup in deed ^^ I still love that job probably more than anything else (and i'm still a rdm till the day i die) but i just couldn't wrap my mind around all the work it takes to get a mythic. I mean, i'm not saying getting a relic is easy, but getting a mythic is a shit load more group oriented, and valefor dosen't have to many decent "groups" willing to help a brother out.

People who want to finish their weapon before FFXI is shut down (or do not have the fortune of having a friend quit while leaving a cache of alex) will apparently have to pay what the market demands.

I find 2,700 to be an excellent price for a large pile of alex and I'd suspect most people completing these would agree.
