What's a Pecking Flurry?
What's a Pecking Flurry?
I think everyone fails to realize im not talking about merits. Im talking about mobs you fight in end game.
Im pretty sure a RNG with Kclub isnt going to melee Gods/Jailers/HNMs
At the same time if you're fighting something that high end, you are going to likely have a relatively low RAtk unless you're subbing WAR, which you don't usually do to HNM/Gods/Jailers...at least for me in those situations Detonator is always my WS of choice, at low levels of RAtk it does pretty much the same amount of damage as Slug at 100% if you're using Martial, and is much more reliable accuracy-wise.
The extra QD damage likely makes up the difference, but that still makes a whole fuck ton of gil/effort for something that you use exactly the same way you use Corsair's Gun/+1.
That said it's still cool to see them done and see the results of the effects, at least we know now.
Ive yet to have issues doing DMG to HNM/Jailers/Gods or racc for that matter. COR/WAR is perfectly fine.
What the fuck is endgame supposed to mean. Half the people on BG scoff and call people retards when they suggest endgame is stuff like salvage, einherjar, any dynamis zone except xarc or tav, limbus paths, nyzul/assaults and merit parties.
Fact is you spend a lot more time fighting stuff thats a similar level to merit mobs for which martial is easily going to be best. Great Cassandra and Martial Gun are both better for shooting tp (if you are shooting tp you will be using melee rolls so QD damage will be insignificant due to low base damage and lack of macc roll for acc).
If you can't land unreisted QDs on "merit level mobs" without macc roll, then something is wrong with you. Even without mattk rolls and the like, thats still a good portion of dmg you are doing every 45 seconds. No reason to not use QD no matter what sub or mob you are fighting.
How is a gun with less dmg and more delay better for shooting for TP then a gun with higher dmg and less delay?
And again, if these are "merit level mobs" you really wouldnt be having the issues of landing slugshot which is what martial does mostly.
Learning to read might help. I said in situations where you are shooting for tp, which implies that it isn't a merit level mob as there is no reason why you wouldn't melee something around merit level. Yes you should still be using QD for some instant damage but it will be a very small portion of your total damage on harder targets if you are set up to shoot/melee.
With martial you can get a 5 hit build without sacrificing many slots, and greater cassandra is still a better 6 hit gun than DP with lower delay, slightly less damage but racc which is always useful on harder targets as cor/war.
Hmmm, yet, I have no racc issues shooting with Martial gun on harder mobs as COR/WAR.
Now my question is, do you just assume these things, or have you actually gone and tested these for your self?
Only mobs ive ran into that you have troubles landing QD on with DD gear are Wyrms which you wouldnt be DDing anyways so it doesnt matter.
Have you? For all I know you are satisfied with 70% accuracy. Cor marksmenship caps at 250, merits its up to 266, 70ish agi and very good tp gear will result in only 365ish acc (and that is assuming very good gear) before food or rolls. When you consider you are only going to be shooting a small selection of targets like DI or sky gods you are going to need considerably more accuracy than you would for merit mobs.
Its also worth noting you likely don't have all the gear I included and for some perspective on DI atleast, you will need well over 450 acc to cap.
Edit: This is all irrelevant anyway because it doesn't change the fact that DP is inferior unless a large portion of your damage is coming from QD. If you tp'd in a weapon with +8 racc you could drop 8 racc somewhere else in favour of str or rattack.
I have about everything you could want for COR. Merited up all the way. If you are doing HNMs and are in the DD party, you will ALWAYS be giving Acc rolls. and you will always be eating food.
And yes, ive done. No where near 70% so perhaps you should get top of the line gear and go test it out your self before running your mouth about things you havent tried.
Seems you are completely ignoring everything. Even with the absolute best gear you can still benefit from 8 racc on the gun or the fTP modification on WS, i.e. allowing you to use less accuracy for sidewinder and focus on other offensive stats.
The only person who is running their mouth of is you, and you did the exact same thing in thie drop thread a few days ago. If you are saying that cor, a job which has a very low skill cap for the weapon they will be using in HNM situations, isn't going to be making use of additional racc then its obviously not worth anyone's time trying to explain it.
Also the debate originally started over you making an incorrect statement and someone correcting you. DP is still not the best DD gun for cor unless you are doing a significant portion of your damage from QD.
yeah yeah, you can just say lolcordd /whm onry and get your point across. I understand your view.
Like ive said several times, the boost in QD DMG that DP gives, as well as 2nd highest base dmg for gun a cor can use, along with the fact of low delay which means you will be getting tp faster then with a Martial gun, and not having racc issues or rattk issues, pulls this ahead of any other gun you are using. Martial gun in no way will add more dmg to tping and slug shot dmg, over DP.
For fuck's sake, someone post some actual math and not conjecture about fucking nothing. This is the stupidest shit I've ever seen.
Hume COR/WAR:
70 AGI
250 Marksmanship + 16 from merits = 266 Marksmanship
259.4 + 35 = 294.4 R.Acc before gear.
Pretty much perfect gear results in ~+90 Acc and ~+15 AGI. This is including dumb and/or hard-to-get items like Barbut, Trailer's Kukri over Vulcan's, and ACP body with R.Acc/Snapshot, and thats putting you at slightly less then 400 Accuracy before food.
Dropping stupid items and assuming you want to eat Pot instead of sushi, Death Penalty is not going to win.
Mithra has 5 more AGI then Hume as COR/WAR
By gear id use, I would be at 384.2 Acc before Hunters roll and Pot.
And thats with AF+1 body + hat and no Trailer's
With Hunters roll and no job bonus from RNG in party or relic hat, a 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11 will put you at over 400 racc. And thats not adding food yet.
Vs what mobs might I ask?
Things you would shoot for TP on?
Gods/Jailers/Odin/DI etc.
