isn't it like the best(or very close) back piece for solo SA?
- Best TP backpiece when using pizza/sushi most of the time or Feint is on
- Best soloSA backpiece unless you're buffed out of the ass
- As above, but soloTA
- Best backpiece for any variety of Dancing Edge when using pizza/sushi most of the time or Feint is on, likewise Evisceration depending on your dDEX and stuff.
- Best backpiece for Shark Bite and Mandalic Stab if you are not hugely buffed
- Best backpiece for Mercy Stroke unless your Attack is capped
Yah, it's pretty bad.
Obviously the fail in that pic is her not using a Thief's Knife, and not having her Assassin's Armlets equipped.
For pure damage, technically Cuch Mantle will be the best SA piece and for trick attack... Assassin's Cape hands down, it even has the +5 Enmity for it.
as far as WS's go, 4STR/4DEX/5Acc when stacked with Sneak attack should overpower 4STR and 15Attack, for any THF Weaponskill, since i don't think 15 Attacks equates to 4 base DMG...?
Unstacked weaponskills its a toss up of math i'm not willing to caculate, however doesn't mean Cerb isn't incredibly awesome for TP when using Sush/Pizza =O!
If you have a mandau and you're not using Mercy Stroke unless the situation calls for not using it (skillchain, unstacked WS), you should kill yourself.

RE: Weaponskills
I'm too lazy to do another load of math on these, but:
- DEX can add base damage through WSC but the DEX added by Sneak Attack damage does not benefit from fTP, making it weaker proportionately on high-fTP weaponskills (Shark Bite and Mercy Stroke in particular)
- 15 Attack over all n hits of Dancing Edge should be able to cope with ~1 WSC over (n-1) hits and 4 extra "almost base damage" for the first.
- Shark Bite/Mandalic Stab are touchy. Since Mandalic multiplies your Attack by 1.66, if your Attack is not capped when you use it (very high end mobs), then adding Attack will be explosive. Otherwise, adding stats like DEX will be best. Shark Bite is just to do with your level of buffs.
So wait, 15 Attack is > 4 Base Weapon Damage for Solo SA/TA because of 1 Offhand hit? This is of Course assuming you're /NIN, if you're a Mandau THF wouldn't you be /WAR to anything worthwhile?
Well, I should be more specific by "offhand" hit which is very misleading: I mean any hit produced when you'd be wearing soloSA/TA gear, which could be triple proc'ing, offhand hit, etc.
And yeah, you would be - on these mobs however, the Attack will become even more valuable![]()
Okay, now i get it, as long as i can force a Double attack or Triple Attack everytime i SA/TA Cerb will win.
I'll never own a Cerb+1 or Cuch so not like it matters much ~.~
Still confuses me, but math doesn't lie.
Honestly, the difference isn't that big at the best of times unless you're fighting something really formidable. I'd just stick to Cerb+1 for most stuff just in case I'm engaged with a beasty with huge defence/level difference.
Finally T4 stopped being stingy this weekend...
