lawl, knew someone was gonna slate me on the kaman. Had a HQ, sold it since was thinking I should pick up rosen+1.
I've never claimed to be the greatest PLD or anything, but I TP with Goblin Cracker and macro in Aumoniere for Atonement.
If you're really into min/maxing, you should Idle in Kaman+1, TP in Goblin Cracker (or Rosenbogen +1 if you have Excalibur), and WS/JA/Cast in Aumoniere. . but who is going to carry around that many ranged items for minuscule improvement? Kaman+1 is the most important.
Yes. Going from ranged -> ammo to ws works well. Owai...and WS/JA/Cast in Aumoniere
You couldn't switch Rosenbogen +1 to it but you could switch Goblin Cracker to it. Excalibur is a solitary case, I don't know why you'd assume that's what I mean. Obviously I said that Kaman +1 was for idling which means when you're NOT engaged.
You are obviously not aware of haste samba and the fact that with 5 merits it will take sam from 70% haste to 80% (and provide considerable extra healing power, but that shouldn't come into it on birds), this is equivilent to adding 50% damage, so yes I do think dnc is going to do a lot more than 2x minuet.
Cor is in the party for corsair's roll, if it was einherjar/limbus or another instance were exp gained wasn't an issue I'd think a Sam or War would add more total damage but thats another dibate.
Yes rng is going to average higher WS even while eating sushi vs sam eating subs, but the difference is not nearly as drastic as you have been making out, simply saying rng will have a higher average is not substantive. Hypothetical situations where both jobs are capped on ratk aren't really bringing anything to the table because they aren't relevant.
Best merit party involves 6 people, not rotating in support jobs to buff them constantly, it is based on realistic situations. Your arguement has been that in very high pDIF situations rng is going to benefit more, but you won't achieve capped or near capped pDIF because in pursuit of the best exp/hr you get better results focusing on haste. If everyone used the 'more support' arguement then drk would be considered the best conventional melee DD as opposed to it being considered WAR > SAM > DRK.
I'm not throwing out any precise numbers, I already said the 12% wasn't taking into account the extra delay on culverin, but with just a 5min mess around with ffxicalculator you can see that the 2 jobs will TP at roughly the same rate under 2x march + haste (this isn't anything indepth, things like TP overflow and missing WS affect rng more than sam), and sam will benefit more from any additional haste (samba).
Edit: If you want numbers on delays based on various buffs then that is easy.
Sam/drg:
450 Delay Weapon
26% Haste (capped at 256/1024 or 25%) in gear
March 1 + 2 + Haste spell 35%
Hasso + Haste Samba 20%
-3% weapon delay, Sword Strap
or 80% haste resulting in a delay of 90
Averaging 1.9 attacks per round at 16.9 tp per hit or an average of 32.11tp per round.
Rng/war:
264 Delay weapon
23% haste in gear
35% magic haste
10% Samba Haste
or 68% haste resulting in a delay of 84
Averaging 3.82 attacks per round at 7tp per hit is 26.74tp per round
So Sam is getting 21% more tp per round whilst swinging 7% slower. Sam is swinging 18% slower without dnc, but we're talking about best merit party right?
Fucking thisYou are obviously not aware of haste samba and the fact that with 5 merits it will take sam from 70% haste to 80% (and provide considerable extra healing power, but that shouldn't come into it on birds), this is equivilent to adding 50% damage, so yes I do think dnc is going to do a lot more than 2x minuet.
Dancer is useful for anything other than Haste Samba and a sub job?
