Yes and getting hit should rarely prove lethal, and if it does the -10% damage wouldn't have saved you anyways. Excal trashes this if you are going to even use pld.

ya i guess you could just move burtgang pictures to the gimp thread; excal vs burt is basically a haste/acc build vs a str build in terms of utility. If you aren't blood tanking, it's balls and even then, excal makes you more useful.

Burtgang is not gimp.. Anyone who says that is an idiot.

Now maybe its gimp for someone like say... Stan or some other maxed out gear player.
And maybe its not as useful as Joy in some situations as well as Excali.

It's situationally the best tanking sword in game, and for that reason, it is not "gimp".

I'm a 75PLD, and i know very well how to play the job, as any sub job you can toss me.

I also have a few other 75 jobs and i'd tell you if i had the time and resources i'd get Mandau, Nirvana, Excalibur, Bravura, and hell even a Gugnir before i would consider getting a Burt.

IMO Burt is probably more useful than gungnir since the OAT lance is pretty much better in any situation you would be using drg in anyways.

PLD was my first 75. I was a main tank for various HNMLS from the days of /war and hp builds to the modern day /nin and /rdm tanking. I tanked in about every situation possible. I've tanked in gimped up and pimped up gear.

What does that mean? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

There's plenty of people out there who will never touch PLD, yet know more about the job than most of the 75s out there. All you need is a good understanding of game mechanics.
