I'd hope so, if you got your $5000 character banned, destroyed the adamant trust of your ls (read back to all the people attached wopa's cock by the mouth), had a pissant character with no one to do anything for you now (astralburned/level synched 63 PLD with gimp skills), and were already generally bad at FFXI, I'd certainly hope you would be done. Before disappearing again he mentioned he had 160M idle on that character, by current prices that 160 mil would be roughly $5000, cut and cauterize nigga.

One thing is for sure! If Wopa is still around and playing, he's got everything to hide. All it takes is one pissed-off person to push his reset button. From what you've said, there should be no lack of volunteers.

I've read all these posts, and I still don't quite understand why everyone hates on Burtgang. I mean, the Damage -10% and Enmity +10 should account for being fairly awesome tanking piece, right?

I understand exacl is better for dealing damage, and thus generating hate based on that..

But is Burtgang really worth hating on?

You wish it was damage-10%, just physical :/. It's not bad, but the more threatening moves are usually magic damage. Thunderstorm, GoH, AgaIIIs, nast AoEs usually end up being magic damage, which kinda makes Burtgang's Phys-10% not bad, but not great. If you're going to get hit, you're going to get hit, sure the -10% is nice, it does help. But with shadows and shield blocks, it doesn't really seem like it would mitigate much damage.
