The real idiots are the ones who think its more then a TH whore. /i have out parsed mandy thf's (w/o a relic) plenty of times who have very good gear... sry but im with Byrthnoth on this one :/

THF can be a good DD. Majiri of alex/Brianfist of quetz are "one man shows".
They have Mandau though. An experienced well geared THF minus relic can still
be pretty good. Although, you're right, they should have a more suffient DD.

THF is also alot of fun!

They gave it to DNC though.

THF really needs a native dual wield so they can finally sub something other than NIN

You posted a relic picture and asked for basic gear advise and expect an arm around your shoulder...?

Atleast you'll have 100+hrs to figure it out while you upgrade your relic to 80.

I was merely commenting on the 63 base STR your taru has (granted /blm, but still) compared with the 77 base STR of my Elvaan. Given the nature of Mercy Stroke, I'd say that I gave quite sound advice.

If I'm inviting a Thief, it's because I want Treasure Hunter. I may also need them to:
* DD and steal hate from mages while they evasion tank or kite something
* DD and try to keep hate on the Tank using SATA and Accomplice intelligently.
* Rub Treasure Hunter all over it.

However, if I didn't care about drops I'd invite a Dancer instead. It's the same job with better DPS and more useful abilities.
