kaiten at 90 is very close or even equal to a 85 masamune

it may even be on par to 90 one but the question is, which is easier to obtain

masamune only takes 3 days tops...5-6 days for lvl 90

im interested to see what they do to relic at lvl 99 :D

it can be but fudo really isnt very good in high def mobs so the WS itself is very comparable to a 90 amano

so it comes down the the melee attack which, like u said, masamune can easily beat amano. However amano also have damage proc, at a lesser % of course. and 90 amano have superior D over 85 masamune.

not bringing 90 masamune into equation yet because to many people, they are satisfied at lvl 85 and lazy to grind isgebind(that bitch dont drop af+2 items too to lure helps if you need)

Fudo/kaiten might be similar on high Def mobs but yes the ODD of emps trash relics and Fudo will outdamage kaiten in high att situations and on XP lvl mobs.

Is it the only one or do any of the others? I'd imagine at least Apocalypse is still very much relevant, especially since they boosted the lv 90 WS.

apoc used to be super because of haste cap

fight now catastrophe is just for draining HP, which is not needed in abyssea due to whm cureV/VI abuse

it is still a very strong WS tho. Hard to compare with GKT due to the fact that gekko, fudo and kaiten are all close and good WS with awesome STR mods

Arthars how do you think 90 Apoc would compare to Redemption? I guess it would come down to the odd v been able to tp in 16% haste gear, oh and any idea if at 90 cata out performs quietus? Mines still 85 sadly at the moment so obviously have not seen the apoc boost first hand yet.

my apoc is only 3/5 NMs so i cant really tell

but i believe the empy scythe WS is definately better than catastrophe since its a damage base WS with better mods (str + mnd?)

catastrophe is just a utility WS(drain HP bring haste up so u can equip other gears during aftermath) and can let you do tanking before abyssea is released.

Right now, i cant find good use of catastrophe in abyssea yet, We shall see when march and future updated/expansion comes about without involving god modes.

not just apoc. infact all relic got a hit due to empy being the upper dogs. L90 relics only makes you come closer to empy, maybe on par at most. You cant beat an empy for now.

well, im talking about the famous empys like katana, h2h, gaxe and sword....i cant vouch for polearm lol. GKT and dagger are prolly the only ones that can come up with good relic vs empy discussion. Others are just flat out "empy wins" except polearm? XD

DRK is probably at the bottom of the DD pole atm, as sad as that sounds. Apoc90 gives a boost but the haste benefit is gone, as is the drain. Apoc is easy to 5hit now which should make it still the premier DRK weapon.
