Well, chance for 4k is pretty low. It requires 2x TA (0.09% so once per ~1000), 2.5 pDIF and 122 total vit so yeah. Anyway go try it if you have a time just remember I was talking about <EM, capped cratio.

Especially because I seriously don't feel like parsing just to show a wooping 4k FH that has such a low chance to proc with just my Epona outside Abyssea. And I'm not sure what it would prove? You already know of the 25% increase to relic WS, so unless you messed up the math it should be right?

Anyway back to the MNK. From my math Spharai shouldn't lsoe a lot to Verethragna outside abyssea. FH should avg 1900 and Vsmite about the same with Impetus down and about 2500+ with impetus up. Assuming additional damage from counters Spharai should be very close. Eyeballing Veret has only about 20%ODD top at 100% TP and only on left hand. Spharai has triple on main hand and probably around 8-10% so thats almost the same.

Questions:
1. Does my math about avg FH lie?
2. Does triple proc rate on Spharai is 8-10% like I think it is (4-5% overall from all attacks from both hands)
3. Any other things in favor of Spharai that I am missing?
4. Would you use Ascetic Fury with Impetus up outside? If yes then how good it is?

Btw I'm not trying to lie myself that getting Spharai is getting a weapon designed to beat Veret on damage (at least now) I know it is mainly for defensive purpose. I just wondering if Spharai is really that far behind Vereth like ppl think because I don't think it is.

1. Though I rarely used FH outside of trials or when I wanted to make a mob my bitch when the aftermath subtle blow was worth a fuck (hi auspice) it should be about right? Back on trials with lv85 or before it would do anywhere from 800 to 1400 (don't quote me on this, been ages since 2k trials) pending DA's, a main hit wiff was still good for about 250-300 dmg I think. Note: this is on EP's (lv60-70 mobs) with no food and not with the equipment set you linked((3%WS damage head, +STR or + VIT legs,2%DA +VIT feet), obviously didn't have the new augmented toys back then, still don't actually. So with base dmg increase on the weapon, h2h skill increase and 25% WS increase on 90 it should be about right compared to 85?

2. I'm just going with Kirschy math on that, she parsed it at 8%ish for 2hand weapons so 4-5% should be about right for total hits on dual wield.

Did a few Ascetics but no idea if Impetus was up or not, I wasn't impressed at least.

I also don't think Spharai is that far behind compared to Vereth, but maybe I just play with shitty Vereth owners. Can test that properly in a while maybe, Vereth coming very slowly lol (22/50 buds, 32/50 fangs, 0/75 scales)

Idk I always was much more horny when I saw Spharai than other relics. Maybe it's because that MNK is my main since 6 years or maybe because it's much more rare then most useful relics.

As a DD weapon it was terrible at 75, we had a decked MNK we did Einherjar with and he always parsed towards the bottom, I have parses but doubt anyone would care now.

you get a 25% ws dmg boost with 90 amano now and that trend will probably continue all the way to 99. Will it beat fudo eventually? I have no clue but amano sam vs fudo sam is still close (with fudo winning overall still). this is according to people who worship sam that I know, so second hand knowledge etc.

I wish my shiny was better inside abyssea Outside, however, Fudo is pretty nice. For how easy masamune path is, anyone remotely serious about SAM should have one anyway. I haven't really been working on 90 version much lately as our focus has been apaderp...but one day! So long as it's before Malacite, I'll be ok.
