As far as I'm concerned XI is already dead and just taking up precious XIV hard drive space. It will be out in a year and it will be perfect, nothing you can say or do will convince me otherwise.

On-topic, the comments about "finishing before XIV" might be a little unwarranted as we've got about 1.5 years left, but there are other issues. As people liquidate gear/sell gil/whatever and leave the game, more gil will enter into the economy and there will be less people to hold it. I feel like we're going to see massive inflation starting in about six months and lasting til XIV release or after. Gil prices will go down again; supply up, demand down. It's going to be really hard to finish a relic on an average player's salary in the next year, unless you're using plastic.

Its just sad that people talk about "The end of FFXI" here instead of creating a new thread called "FFXI's death is here discussion" so people that either got banned or are otherwise annoyed by the game can post their comments.

Obviously the game has its flaws, but why making everyone else's day miserable by posting those ending comments that you already hear enough in Whitegate.

I'm pretty sure no job can spend 400M without buying a relic or rare/ex gear. <_< Maybe if you bought a Ninurta's Sash, I guess.

If I ever finish thief it will cost about that much. How much have I spent so far? With current prices I'd say mandau is about 140m. Ive spent about 27m so far in Heca+1 gear. I've got 20m saved up already for cap -1 (if it can be bought at that price), so let's throw that in there. Speed belt 32m. Cerb mantle +1 10m. Evisceration set about 12m (some of this gear doubles for other pieces). Harmonius ring and triumph ring +1, 6m. Adroit ring +1, 2m. Striders 4m. Charger mantle 1.5m, jaeger 1.5m. 2 xbows, 2m tot. Other TP gear items 5.5m. Ranged acc gear maybe 2.5m otherwise. Dragon+1 collection 1.5m (not body and feet). Unique SA set gear 3m. Unique TA 1m. Evasion set total otherwise ~2m. I don't know if buying other r/ex gear counts but I chose to pay friends 4m to help with X's knife. New heca head abj 2.5m. Love torque 5m.

So far that's about 285m. I haven't tallied the cost of my stuff for a long time but I'm surprised there's an extra mandau's worth in gear. To complete thief I'll also need Vajra (90m), Mar's ring (~50m), Ninurta's (~80m+), Dusk Gloves +1 (20m), and I'm sure there's other stuff I've forgotten. That's about 525m at current prices. Croiky. **edit -30m+ for upgrades from speed belt, etc.

N. sash is more like 75mil, no where near 200mil. I get my price from the dude who's selling it for 1800$ when 1mil=24$.

Tell him to sell it for gil instead =/ I think I'd prefer getting that over vajra if it was indeed that price.

Had a lot of currency saved up myself for Amano, but now I fail to see the point because I plan to play FFXIV or one of the new MMOs that will be coming out in a yearish.

No more new news about Vajra from the JP that got it, it seems. The numbers he presented for the sa/ta boost seemed very sketchy though it seemed like he intended to work on it further. So ther than what he knows I'd say that we still know nothing more about Vajra than we did before it was obtained.
