Mad yes, envy? No. These are his 'fellow' DRGs with Gungnirs (and Ryunohige) telling him he's an embarrassment. Hopefully, that's a negative motivator to gear his DRG better and take pride instead of obviously being a keener trying to impress.. god knows what.

As a professor, I have never seen anyone this dense. Clearly, these are other Relic DRG's. I hate to break it to you prom queen, but everything is not always about you. Hopefully this DRG will take his gear seriously, if not, he can always join the ranks of players/trolls like you.

tbh the first thing I thought when I looked at that picture was that he should have sold some currency and bought +2s instead of being lazy.

That or elaborate troll requiring the collection of +1 gear over again. I immediately felt the prior was more likely.

BG can care about w.e it wants to, whether it be maximizing dps or riding dicks. However, FFXI doesn't reflect BG like some people love to think. So, point still stands, unless legion proves to actually be worth maximizing dps over.

Edit: Not that it really matters nor is this in relation to that Gungir. I'm not making a statement that making stupid gear choices is a justifiable position, just that overall maximizing dps is pointless given current game mechanics.

Considering that the entire goal of Legion is to kill Nms as fast as possible, I'd say that maximizing DPS is pretty fucking important.
