Yeah I don't see how a single DL couldn't be handled without PD, make use of stuns and limit TP gain.
I think the problem with this strat would be Tera Slash and how fast it resplits; sometimes it's instantly on the first one dieing and other times it'll wait a good 20s before resplitting. Depending on Tera Slash and his frequency of resplitting; it'd basically be a fight on which outlasts the other one or until you picked the right one... the other issue is that mages could have some difficulty dealing with the AoE sans PD. If we're unlucky with wild cards; maybe I'll try this strat tonight though.

Working on trials and gear now.
First 99 relic in our shell done! :D 4/5 on the 2nd.

Also; on ADL without PD and being able to pull a clone off... I used a 2nd party without PD today and the results weren't very good at all; they had Scherzo, EA, and a WHM support but they were dead by the end of the fights the majority of times.
As for pulling one of the ADLs off and kiting it/holding it; we used a PLD to do that and sometimes it'd go chase down the PLD after just a Flash, but another time it ignored Flash > Sentinel > Invincible. No one hit either of the ones we tried to pulled off on both of these occurrences and both of the ones we attempted to pull off were not the real DL.
Done over 10 ADL fights now and I really don't think it's doable without at least 1 PD per fight unless you're REALLY lucky; but you wouldn't want to even test your luck with that. There's just way too many variables you can't control.
Congrats Alastore...even if you're French
maybe the one that didnt follow the PLD is the real DL? XD
If the real one kept the previously generated enmity and the clones just assisted him at the start... that's possible... Could have Rdm Diaga them, hopefully one would chase it while other does whatever it does...
That said, I'm sure on split they didn't stay focused on melees, but instead ran off to someone random so idk.
But he said he pulled one away once with just flash, if that was the real one then wouldn't the fake have followed him and he ended up kiting both?
maybe it has something to do with enmity.
If fake's enmity is higher to one player than the real one is to another player, it holds current target. If the fake's enmity is lower to one player than the real one's is to another player, it assists the real one.

Nothing substantial to add to the discussion of how to detect the true clone but just a follow-up testimonial on the 2 melee party Perfect Defense approach. Last week went 6/7, this week went 4/7, again no double marrow drops.
We used the same approach as last time, stopping damage at around 50% and letting it split into 2. Unfortunately, we were incredibly unlucky with picking the "true" DL on the first try, only managing to do that once. That being said, on the other 6 we still managed to kill both DLs 50% of the time on those times we did not. Forget if it's been reported, but he does in fact split a second time if you do not kill the "true" DL fast enough. He never split with a clone still alive though for us at least.
Sort of debatable whether you're better off with all melee on one and taking the 50% chance you picked the right one or having the melee split up on the 2 of them. I tend to prefer the all on one approach since you're increasing the amount of TP moves by hitting both and thus giving yourselves more opportunity to get hit with Terror or AoE death move.
Still not completely satisfied with the approach, but 10/14 overall with it.
Has anyone with a complete 99 Relic Weapon done any testing to see what the hidden "Increased chance of dealing extra damage" proc rate has been raised to yet?
Thought I read somewhere earlier that ADL can be stunned and can't seem to find it atm. Am I hallucinating or, if not, how fast does adl build resistance to it.
