srsly... how can u compare the acquisition rate of dark ring to a D-ring....

unless theres a trick to make Dring always drop on every KB that i wasnt being told of

Pretty much this.

Not to mention farming Dark rings gives you gils in the process while farming d ring in the way he means (buy triggers and spam behe dominions) is pretty much throwing gils (possibly up to 100-200M) w/o any guarantee to get results.

Lastly we were talking about additional bonus while doing trials and I dont see how farming Defending Ring has any connection with it.

I'm not comparing acquisition.

I'm basically just saying that the point "you can farm a Dark ring and do your trial in Abyssea - Konschtat" isn't valid for everyone, nothing more.

Not really understand. From all ppl that need to make trials with Ragnarok there is maybe 0.01% with Defending Ring. Maybe 1% of them have perfect dark ring to pair it.
From my logic dark ring is not worth to farm only if you have both Defending ring and already very good dark ring. Unless you really mean you care for this 0.0001% of ppl I dont get it.

Talking mostly about anyone who would read this thread, which isn't the majority of the FFXI community to begin with and then, according to BG standards (unless they have dropped over the years), there is more than one person reading this thread matching the profile you are describing.

Also, with this kind of setup, you can drop MDT from a "perfect" Dark ring, that's already less of a hassle.

Fuck, I'm talking about a minority, my bad, carry on.

Learned some good things about Abyssea camps.

Didnt know Defending Ring was a BG standard. I tho maybe 1% of ppl here have one. My mistake.

took me like, what, five? hours of cleaving strictly slugs (13? boxes per pull) to get a -6% phys dark ring with -4% magic, probably'd about the same amount of time for others, if not just a tad more

if people were sporting a new dring in their shell after every month of camping king brohemoth back at 75, i could agree with the logic of saying dring is on -6% dark ring's level of difficulty to obtain, but that wasn't the case then, and it sure as shit isn't now either (even contrary to the fact that i've seen a steady climb in count of pieces of garbage with the ring as of late, sadly, at least on asura)

tl;dr: going 1/[insert single digit number here] on dring doesn't entitle you to imply getting dring is simple

now, back to relic/empyrean/mythic pix plox

If said person complained about having to get MDT on one of their Dark Rings, I would imagine they wouldn't want to go through the hassle to get a Dring.
