Because you are leaving your farming efficiency to chance. All you need is a naked Lv75 SMN with Alexander unlocked and 1000MP. If you plan to kill 6xADL, then bring 6xSMN. If you plan to kill 8xADL, then bring 8xSMN. Between NNI and ADL, I would never rely on COR for anything, just get better mules lol.
That only works in large alliance (who does this anyway ?). Real people do it the right way and bring cor mules in place of their DDs.
Not every person even has a mule account, nevermind a mule account with SMN levelled. Expecting to get 8 SMN mules when attendance is generally 7-8 people is a bit silly imo and a massive luxury if that's what you have available.
I would far rather take 4 SMN's and 1-2 COR's to give you a shot at all 8 than take 5-6 SMN's which means you're guaranteed leftover pops anyway. I'll take the way that averages more kills and gives safer kills any day of the week. Yes there's an element of chance but over time the COR resets will average more kills than having everyone SMN. It's not like if the resets fail we go 'Fuck it, run over', we go back to farming so no time is lost other than the 30 ish seconds it takes to try Wild Cards.

As Pchan already said. Getting a COR to 65+ to be useful is a much faster and easier task then getting a SMN to 99, skilling and getting Alexander access.
Don't need to skill or get the SMN to 99, like I said. It has to be 75 with 1000MP, that's it. Nothing else.
Edit: Also, let's be real with the not everyone has a mule account. Most of the strategies for this forum and end game activities come with mules in mind. This game is on its last legs and having an extra account from ages past isn't uncommon.

SMN 99 1k Mp is not enough. The SMN that uses PD has to cap its skill for max duration stun (assumption, but skilling up to 400 is not exactly hard..), and does need to have a minimum amount of gear, at least in a low man strategy like us ; basically ADl can drain your entire MP in which case you need to counter it with avatar perp maxed for safety (moar gear to farm), also one of the SMN that are up during the fight has to buff a max enfire and ifrit's favor. Without that you can still win but you are back to 50% winrate instead of our 87% ish. In a 6 or even 8 man strat, killing 2 clones is reliant on unleashing at least 2 good shock squalls.
Barring 1min Terror, 4xDD can kill 2 clones with near perfect reliability. No shock squalls required. Stun/Weapon Bash/Blade Bash are more than enough for each fight.
No you don't, you wipe systematically because it's unstunable. Also I shouldn't have to explain why letting a SMN stun is faster and safer than having a lol DRK pop and justify its slot.

I've asked on this forum before about the minimum amount of mp needed for max duration PD (it's certainly more than 1k), but noone could provide an answer. Since I haven't bothered testing for myself, I personally I make sure I have 1300+ mp when I PD. And yes, ADL can do that move at pop where he drains mp, which again can possibly shorten PD duration depending on the amount of mp the smn has.
I have to agree that leveling cor to 65 and getting rank 6 is much easier than leveling smn and doing all the ToAU missions for Alexander.

It's funny how our win rate (91.67%) exceeds yours when we never take a single MNK and rely solely on DRK's, SAM's and WAR's.
If anything it's not about the raw DPS in the fight, it's about quick spike damage after split since pre-split it's harmless. DRK beats MNK on both accounts anyway but more so than usual in a fight that short that the DRK can have Souleater up full-time whilst also making use of Sekka Reso (Sekka > Reso > Reso is 12-15k damage alone which I generally save for post split).
Implosion is far from guaranteed wipe anyway. Hell, the last time it got it off it was those two 'waste of a space' DRK's that finished it off when terror wore.
