Well I just wanted to mention, because it seemed that Jem was saying Apoc is underrated "nowadays" as if it was well-known to be Godly at some time in FFXI history, that it never was. Apoc DRK was certainly a good DD at 75, but for general use was it ever mindblowing damage or the best? Outside of zerg I would certainly argue not. WAR was for sure stronger for general use, MNK was better in Salvage, RNG best in Odin etc. Sure, DRK was stronger and useful if you had poor mages or something but please, it has never been mindblowing in comparison to other jobs.

Thats the thing, Apoc was broken (godly) up until the haste nerf and still top tier afterwards. Souleater was also very relevant back then and Apoc could pop it everytime it was up.

75 cap relevant content: Kirin zerg, Bv2 zerg, DL zerg, Vrtra zerg, Tiamat/Khim/Cerb/Fluffhog/Omega Apoc tanked. Obviously its fantastic for Salvage,Einherjar,Limbus. It was not so great for DI, SW, KB or Aspid at 75.

You say this yet you and your shell was still doing Einherjar full time, DI and SW every day, camping KB and Aspid, occasionally doing limbus and people were of course still doing Salvage so choosing what you want to claim as "relevant" isn't really defence for Apoc's position as I was with you still doing all of the other content and others so you can't pretend it wasn't "relevant".

It reads to me as it is the only relevant content and DRK was oh so good at it. Even still I think they're terrible examples of trying to make Apoc out as Godly at 75 cap, do I need to point out why?

Yeah, that kinda surprised me once I got mine. I've always been a rather, ah...aggressive drk. But I noticed almost most immediately that I can keep up SE on cd. This weapon keeps making me rethink how I do shit.

Apoc changes the way you play the job and is just downright fun to use, especially with capped haste.

Largest Elvaan combined with me being smallest Hume F. Used to be comical when we tanked together all the time and I was like up to his waist and his shield was basically the same size as me.

And yeah Taint, just in the process of shifting my merits at the minute to get Last Stand although the 3 WS'es only is annoying.
