Or just suck it up and make the best weapon for most jobs
Or just suck it up and make the best weapon for most jobs
Assaults and pretty much all WotG events are instanced rather than being 3x copies like BCNMs or 1x copies like old-Dynamis, Einherjar, and Limbus. Basically, if it's an event where the leader takes the whole party in, it's probably actually an instance.
Why do "hands of darkness" exist? You'd have to ask SE. There's only one copy of MMM monsters in the .dats and multiple groups can be doing the same maze at the same time, so it's actually an instance.
Fucking lol at the crying about mythics essentially being too expensive. The bar for relics has already been dropped to the point where any idiot with bst can likely farm one up in 2months or less, emps have been a joke to get since 85 cap.
Mythics are the last thing left in the game that takes any real commitment to get it would be a shame to see them diluted down to the same level as everything else. I imagine the salvage v2 boom will begin to slow in the not too distant future (adoulin) and unless there is some additional source for alex introduced the price will probably start to creep up again, which is no bad thing.
I've never really understood this argument. Right now, they're about as expensive as upgrading 2 emps from 90 to 99, or making about 3 relics. There are a shitton of people with like 8+ relics and people hardly bat an eye anymore, but people say mythics are too hard to get still.
It is harder yes, and it's annoying that it also requires a ton of extra effort from doing salvage/nyzul/assaults/znm on top of being the most expensive, but it's far and away from being too hard, considering they're almost all the best weapon for their respective jobs.
That's quite the exaggeration. Unless you meant best looking weapon.
Maybe not the "best" as in highest dps/WSD by itself alone, but most of them open up opportunities that other weapons simply don't have. Though I was ignoring mage jobs when I said that, which immediately adds about 5 other "not best" to the list.
As far as ones that are the best, I know there's SAM, DRG, DNC, BST, COR, WAR (if only as a macro piece that enables rag/ukon further).
Ones that I know aren't the best: NIN, DRK, PLD
Ones I'm not sure on: THF (leaning towards yes), RNG (leaning towards no), MNK (leaning towards no, but looks like an interesting utility piece)
Thats even larger exaggeration -_- What mythics you had on mind when saying this? Yagrush and Terpsi? Well Burtgang maybe a little. All of the most wanted mythics are mostly wanted for their damage (Koga/Ryu/Conq/Liberator/Aymur) If you want to talk about not optimal damage but utility weapons you might want to check relics not mythics. Hello Apoc/Yoichi/Anni/Aegis are best examples that change a lot for their jobs (well ranged ones are also top DD weapons but we all know that hateless WSs is what makes them so good) but Spharai/Amano(double light and weapon to mix with Yoichi)/Bravura/Excalibur are also weapons that advantage comes not only from good damage.
Really best mythics are mainly pure DPS weapons and most of them win only in specific scenerio and not by much ( beside Ryu and maybe Koga which are best in majority of situation).
As for Vajra. Pretty sure its a trash for almost anything. Thf will lose a lot waiting to build 300TP and since it has highest attack per round it will gain a smallest % of increased attacks. Vajra has also very shitty DPS and I hardly see it winning even with AM active 100% of the time ( actually I'm pretty confident it would lose) On top of that THF with Vajra loses ability to stack SA and TA with two best WSs made for that and being sticked to relic and empy.
At this point in the game if you could choose one weapon for melee jobs out of relics/empy/mythics only two jobs would choose mythic.
The only thing I saw as an advantage for vajra would be on high lvl high def mobs, stacking SA and TA mandallic. 1.66 bonus to pdif and +60% dmg when stacked. Could be a niche use.
I thought it would be fairly obvious what I meant, but I guess not. They're not ALL used ONLY for their DPS on the weapon itself; some are more for whatever extra effects it ends up adding. I.E. it isn't only the base D plus aftermath that makes the weapon the "best" for that job, but it is still the best.
Apoc, Spharai, Bravura are not the best in terms of damage, they are just good mixes of defensive and offensive options. Aegis isn't a weapon. Anni is what I assumed as the best RNG weapon, hence why I'm leaning towards no for Gastraphetes, but I have no idea of the math. Amano+Yoichi I believe is secondary to Kogarasu (which doesn't cost that much more anyways), but I'm unfamiliar with the math for it. I have no idea where Excal stands on DDing, but I know burtgang isn't very good so it probably beats that.If you want to talk about not optimal damage but utility weapons you might want to check relics not mythics.
They end up wining, but like I said earlier, it's usually because of secondary effects on the weapon, not just the pure DPS that could expect if you just looked at it on paper without necessarily knowing what the extra stuff did.Really best mythics are mainly pure DPS weapons and most of them win only in specific scenerio and not by much ( beside Ryu and maybe Koga which are best in majority of situation).
I haven't actually done the math on it, but my intuition says that with a 99 Vajra's SA/TA bonus, SA+mandalic may come out ahead of SA+mercy. I'm less confident about TA though, and wholly unsure of how AM stacks up against the triple damage. Basically, I have a suspicion that Vajra could actually be a really underrated weapon, if not the best, but as I don't play THF and wouldn't even make a Vajra even if I did, I have little inclination to actually do the math on it.As for Vajra.
At least 5.At this point in the game if you could choose one weapon for melee jobs out of relics/empy/mythics only two jobs would choose mythic.
Wait, actually it might be the whole term:

Write down direct examples.. really...
*Thats exactly what I wrote -_-
** I was talking about relics giving a unique utility or highly maximizing job potencial in something else than damage. Wasnt talking about weapons only.
*** Anni isnt best ranged weapon only because of pure damage but mainy because of hateless WS that changes RNG to perfect DD for harder fights and Gastraphetes has no chance.
**** Another think that I wrote
***** Excal wins everywhere where you are not buffed or you cant maintain AM from Almace (which is mostly same situation)
****** Burtgang is best for holding but really its not a potential game changer like Aegis
Like which one? Ryu wins because of pure destructive power(because of AM/Drakesbane). Koga wins because of pure destructive power(AM). Conqueror when it happens to win its because of pure destructive power(AM/att+). Aymur when it wins its because of pure destructive power(AM). Liberator when it wins its because of pure destructive power(AM). Unless you somehow choose to believe Aftermath or boost to WS is some "secondary effect of the weapon" which for "most of them open up opportunities that other weapons simply don't have." then its only true if that opened opportunity is more damage -_-
Mandalic has no fucking chance. Even if it would win stacked with SATA in some VERY low pdif situation it would still greatly lose in WS damage between SATA. Tho tbh even stacked with SATA Mandalic has fTP multiplied by bonuses around 5.57 with 30% dex mod and Mercy is something around 5.3 (both w/o calculating QA/TA/DA which will close the gap a little I think) and 60%STR mod. Mercy Stroke set has probably something like 80 more att too ( before Mandalic att bonus obviously ).
Ok If you gonna count lolMelee like PUP and BST then maybe 4 Koga,Ryu,KKK,Aymur
WAR: Both Ukon and Ragnarok winning for most events
DRK: Apoc winning for utility Ragnarok winning in damage for most events
MNK: Veret wins for dmg and Spharai for utility
THF: Both empy and Mandau wins for damage
DNC: Idk which weapon is overall better for DNC but I doubt that Terpsi is clean winner
PLD: Both Relic and empy are better choice
NIN: lol....
Not that I'd call it a worthwhile investment, but based on what paladin has been reduced to.. I'd say Burtgang is the clear winner
