Nitpicking, but Spharai is ahead in the DPS department as well pending on content/buffs.

Terpsi is actually the clear winner for DNC by quite a bit the last time I checked.
Correct me if im wrong but isn't Spharai and Vere more or less neck and neck unless theres a 99 ghorn in the party which pushes Spharai in the lead by a few % ?
I thought Vere was ahead during impetus and Spharai takes the lead when it's down using ss.
I think even if Spharai run behind Verethragna just a bit I'd take it. Nice thing about relics is that they won't get as hard as Empyreans and especially Mythics would on enemies that love spamming amnesia/TP down moves, or if you need to move around a lot, etc.
Spharai would use Shijin Spiral right? Or does Final Heaven become good at 99? Figuring out what to do with WS merits is all thats holding me back from making one.
It is not a fucking binary statement. Some weapons win on their base damage and aftermath alone, regardless of what the additional effects do (basically all the 2h ones). Some need that little extra oomph provided by the extra effects to nudge them into superiority over their empyrean/relic counterparts (bst, dnc)
I am not talking about utility in a general form. At all. I am talking about raw damage. When I mention utility it is more as a non-standard way to add to your overall Dps aside from the standard melee ws cycle. Like dncs extra Fm, bsts extra pet attack, pups overload resistance, etc. When you bring up aegis and burtgang in a discussion about damage, you look like a retard.*Thats exactly what I wrote -_-
** I was talking about relics giving a unique utility or highly maximizing job potencial in something else than damage. Wasnt talking about weapons only.
*** Anni isnt best ranged weapon only because of pure damage but mainy because of hateless WS that changes RNG to perfect DD for harder fights and Gastraphetes has no chance
**** Another think that I wrote
***** Excal wins everywhere where you are not buffed or you cant maintain AM from Almace (which is mostly same situation)
****** Burtgang is best for holding but really its not a potential game changer like Aegis
Like which one? Ryu wins because of pure destructive power(because of AM/Drakesbane). Koga wins because of pure destructive power(AM). Conqueror when it happens to win its because of pure destructive power(AM/att+). Aymur when it wins its because of pure destructive power(AM). Liberator when it wins its because of pure destructive power(AM). Unless you somehow choose to believe Aftermath or boost to WS is some "secondary effect of the weapon" which for "most of them open up opportunities that other weapons simply don't have." then its only true if that opened opportunity is more damage -_-So you list 5 weapons that win, then go on to say you cant think of 5 weapons that win. Well played.Ok If you gonna count lolMelee like PUP and BST then maybe 4 Koga,Ryu,KKK,Aymur
WAR: Both Ukon and Ragnarok winning for most events
DRK: Apoc winning for utility Ragnarok winning in damage for most events
MNK: Veret wins for dmg and Spharai for utility
THF: Both empy and Mandau wins for damage
DNC: Idk which weapon is overall better for DNC but I doubt that Terpsi is clean winner
PLD: Both Relic and empy are better choice
NIN: lol....
Again, I haven't done the math for it so I am in no position to argue definitively. I am not touting it as the best weapon, or inflicting my opinion on others. I just said I have a suspicion it may be underrated, and until I do my own math (which is unlikely) it will remain just that, a suspicion.Mandalic has no fucking chance. Even if it would win stacked with SATA in some VERY low pdif situation it would still greatly lose in WS damage between SATA. Tho tbh even stacked with SATA Mandalic has fTP multiplied by bonuses around 5.57 with 30% dex mod and Mercy is something around 5.3 (both w/o calculating QA/TA/DA which will close the gap a little I think) and 60%STR mod. Mercy Stroke set has probably something like 80 more att too ( before Mandalic att bonus obviously ).
My appologies for any misspelled words, posting this from a kindle so my typing blows.
having never looked at spreadsheets for it and just out of morbid curiousity,
does liberator rank as top in dps for drk?
I was always under the impression that it was #2
Well that was a little confusing from my part. My initial answer was to ppl saying that its bad to say that mythics are too expensive etc. Mythics are no better than relics/empyrean. Depending on job you can find best choices in each 3 groups but mythic'ss effor<>gain is by far worse than that for empy/relic. So above quote of mine was to show that PLD would clearly want to upgrade both shields first and even then Burtgang wouldnt be that clear as a next step for improvement. If you would want to be objective Mythics shouldn't cost more than empy/relic. That should be done by multiplying amount of Alex that you can get in single salvage. Making them cheaper but letting ppl farm the same gils just by selling more Alexs at lower price. Mythics at the price they are now should be much stronger to justify the cost of 2-3 relics.
If you're going to fulltime one weapon, sure. Liberator is going to be a lot stronger if you're using it for something that allows you to start at 300tp. (or have enough healing to make use of souleater with it)
Less text, more pics! Friend just finished this (he doesn't have a BG account):

Kya moved to sylph?
Legion/ADL are not extremely mythic friendly in my opinion. ADL is an extremely short fight where you probably won't actually see much WS frequency increase with AM3. You generally won't be able to get 300tp back up in between pops, and souleater won't be up for most fights. I would think something like pre50% odin2 would highly favor liberator, or really anything you have a brd but don't have a cor? Assuming it's reasonable to reapply aftermath in those situations anyways.
Does the enhanced absorb factor in at all?
Odin is dark based, ADL is dark based...so I doubt anything on those two.
Well, ADL would be pointless considering it would go away on split. You could open up odin with a dark seal nethervoid absorb VIT or something though.
