I just can't subscribe to the "must have perfect gear for a relic" idea. The whole priorities thing applies all the way through. That doesn't excuse total shit from someone who clearly has no idea what they're doing like that Amano guy or some of the other relics, but crucifying and badgering this guy over NQ fire staff is a little silly imo, no matter how cheap the upgrade may be.

Pretty sure that if we could calculate the ratio benefits/gils invested (you can throw in it the time needed to fund it also), it would be way lower for a relic/nq guy than for a non-relic/hq guy. And that's why people are bitching. Now get a damn vulcan's.

Worth is a subjective evaluation. Period. You are welcome to your opionion, but its fairly rude to suggest others have to agree with it.

Vulcan provides a clear damage improvement over a fire staff. There's nothing subjective about it. The calculation of how much extra damage one gets from the +1 str can be done easily. There is no question that 7-800,000 gil for +1 str is not just in line with what the market considers a reasonable price, but is actually cheaper than what people pay for many of the +1 str improvements. (Hachi legs, wyvern helm +1 are just examples of this.)

A more consistent argument that you could have made is that there are no HQ items or relics of any kind that are 'worth' it, since to use your example, a smn or blm can simply take longer to do their job and do less powerful spells and save 800,000 gil.
