I realize it's because everyone and their sister thinks they have the means to upgrade a relic now, when that is absolutely not the case and never has been the case (for some of them). Must be a lot of people sponsoring runs now or something.

Isn't about chosing what everyone else tells you it's about what YOU want to upgrade. I've had several ppl tell me I should do an Amano for my SAM. But I chose COR mythic instead, because it's what I wanted to, not what other people were telling me to do. It's my gil so I'll upgrade whatever the hell I want. Unless it's funded by my LS. Then hell yeah I'll get an Amano!

I couldn't agree more.

People holding on to currency and buying it when they don't really have the means in the long run. Maybe get to stage 3 and stop. Although, I do think it's nice to strive for things.

On quetz there are so many people who are doing relic. Shout spams for cheap coins. Is that kinda thing common on other servers?

We also have some people who shout for cheap coins and resell them, mostly JPs. There is this one mule name Jan, who is a serious price jacker and makes sure no one gets a good deal on any items in upper jeuno, especially on dyna coins.

Currently I run 62 mules, if I could justify spending the RL cash on doubling that, which is entirely possible to keep up with, you could get a relic in a couple of months just buying from baz. By "couple" I mean like 10 months.

But that would drive me insane, I rip my hair out every harvest time.

How do you justify 62 mules even if they were all on 1 account (which is impossible) it would still cost you $70~ a month (I'm guessing it costs in the region of $90-100 a month to run 4 accounts with that many mules).

Even with 120 mules gardening I'm not sure what you're going to do to make 140m+ in a couple of months. Maybe 6 months but thats a fairly large amount of additional RL money.

Oh yeah, and SE will ban your mules accounts ofcourse.

Tbh i would rather mow lawns for 2-3 hrs a day instead of gardening, and just strait buy the damn gil off a site. there is really no difference in my eyes and screw morals in ffxi. theres not one shell anymore that does not have a leader who shares/uses others accounts, or has just bought a new one after he got lm-17. Does not bott the shit out of everything, or just buys gil. Or takes advantage of its leadership roll (hello ls bank).

I figure i can buy a damn relic in 1/10th the time i could make the gil ligit on this game, if not significantly less. My real life time is worth more. It be smarter to take a 2nd job and buy enough gil after 2 months at mcdonalds lol, then spend the next year farming. In my eyes both are a job and not fun....

With all that said its the reason I will never have a relic lol... I have better things to spend my $ on then a game (well besides the monthly fee), but again some make to much and are bachelors lol ;D. I have morals and view account sharing as low class as rmt. I would never bot because i dont take this game that serious. So ya unless i started my own shell and abused my power as leader by hording currency theres really no way. Or if somehow i got a shell that funded upgrades which is also hard.

Money doesn't really matter as much as availability on Kujata. I'm making my money legitimately with crafting, but I'm seeing most of the currency being wasted by idiots that think that they can finish one because they can get through the first two upgrades. Or they're hording it all so that they can sell it when/if the price goes up. That, and I don't pay more than a certain amount. I don't go over 15k/1.5 mil for Bronze/Silvers, and 10k/1 mil for Bynes.
