gardening makes RMT a mint.
gardening is only valuable to RMT in huge bulk.
nerf 10 day trials to 1-2 plants instead of 10 and RMT gardening dies w/ no harm to players.
i like running figures nobody will bother to read inside a wall o text.

LOL, I read the whole thing. I am still kinda curious what .dat tampering they are doing to avoid being banned. That sounds much more valuable than any gil making machine.

Btw, are RMT using IP routers to fake being in the US or does SE not ban Chinese IPs?

Fairly sure the RMT are doing the same thing I have to do to log in now, use a VPN to redirect their internet usage. Nearly all of South Korea has been IP Blocked by POL, likely because close proximity to China made it easy for RMT to have had VPNs set up here.

on topic, even if only 3 chars per account are required, i'd imagine scripting entering text for a trial account could be created very very easily in autoit. just have it shove the login info into a database after it creates it and it wouldn't have a significant impact on my calculations.

A guy in my ls is in the air force/navy or something and is posted in SK. A few months ago he started being unable to log on

As someone who travels around in China frequently, I will attest to needing to VPN to access FFXI. I've tried logging in at the Hong King Airport as well with no luck. Taiwan is still good without a VPN.

They do, but since there's no "official" service for the game here, SE told me they cannot guarantee being able to log in here. There's a rather large fansite for Korean FFXI players, and the VPN solution is posted on the front page:

Possible new information regarding the recent RMT surge. Has anyone also noticed the sudden (and dramatic) increase in price on crystals since the version update? All types of crystals are now running anywhere from 2.5k-5 a stack on Siren.

The wildgrass gardening thing has been known for a while among Japanese players (and others). I hope it won't get nerfed, it's one of the last good NPC-sale based source of profit.


The lightning crystals raising in price may have to do with smithers massively desynthing beastmen armor for the goblin bag quest ingot.

those flowerpots are like 50k each

the brass and such are 1k, but you will often get a stack of fire crystals instead, average/mule isn't close to 30k by the way, its more like 20-22

There's loads and loads of gilsinks in this game so where does it all come from?
