Recently, my XP login time has been much longer than usual.
When I login with whatever account I have on there, it sits on the welcome screen for about 2 minutes or so (was usually just a few seconds). Then the desktop pops up followed by Avast loading, but then sits there for another 2 minutes or so. Then finally the Volume Control , and Network Icon on the bottom right corner pop up, followed by the Login Music that is played. This usually took me only 15-20 seconds tops, but now its abnormally long.
Things I have done already:
-Avast Thorough Virus Scan in both normal, boot-time, and safe-mode.
-Spybot scan in both normal and safe-mode.
-Uninstalled unneccesary programs.
-Deleted temp/prefetch files.
-Defragmented.
-Disk Cleanup.
-Msconfig Startup Processes Changes
-Registry Cleanup.
After all this, I'm still hauling the annoyingly long login speeds. Anyone have any other ideas? Formatting is my last resort, or should I just bear with it?
