What's the recommended method of syncing contacts/calendar/etc. on a jailbroken phone?

How about uploading media (music/videos) to be viewed/played as if it were done via iTunes?

I sync the calender and contacts through google.

as for alternate ways to sync there are plenty of programs that do exactly what Itunes does. Just really have to look for it. At work now so can't post any links. Maybe someone else has some suggestions

Honestly, my iPhone is both jailbroken and unlocked and I've only ever used iTunes the same way anyone would with a regular iPhone. Admittedly in the past, iTunes has been the biggest pile of shit with performance, sync times, features, ways of dealing with certain things, etc, but after the latest update, I actually notice a huge difference and enjoy using the program now. It's faster, more efficient, easier to use, and doesn't fuck up your phone like it might have in the past.

There are always going to be alternate ways of doing something, but in this case I really don't think it's necessary unless you have some sort of specific boycotty hatred towards iTunes.

So i just bought my Iphone yesterday and Itunes won't let me transfer the music from my Ipod to Iphone. Is there any way to take the music off my Ipod and put it in my current laptop library so I can put it on my Iphone? The original laptop I set up my Ipod on broke sooo this laptop I'm using now doesnt have access to the music. Please help

Use SharePod to take any music/pics off of your iPod. You'll have everything, you'll just have to rebuild your library.

Nah, shouldn't.

Does not. Puts everything in a folder for you and makes folders for each artist/album. So it's pretty neat and quick.

I sync contacts straight through Itunes, just choose "Windows Contact" and Sync, make sure to choose "Merge" and all the contacts will copy to your Windows Contact as back up for future Sync. I like it because it's simple and quick compare to other methods out there.

Should I wait for redsn0w or will blackra1n essentially be identical. (I'm an ATT customer so ultrasn0w is not relevant.) I don't have a mac...and no clue when they will release the windows jailbreak. I haven't been even receiving the "Check MMS at httpxx" when people send me mms anymroe ...so I want to update to get MMS LOL :<

blackra1n is already jailbreaking the latest 3.1 for windows. Does it quite well in fact. It's what I'm on at the moment, and back to my wonderful iElegance pro theme.

Same theme, I changed the fonts over to my favorite FontSwap, the Ubuntu Titiling font. Also removed the Icon Labels to clean it up:

Wow, love it! Is there an install tutorial on a website somewhere that you used? I just might have to change over. Any tips or pointers I should know about beforehand?

Well, it's not free. It's like 1.99 or 2.99 (can't remember which) from the Cydia store.

But the install is just like any normal theme in winterboard. Install it from Cydia, select the options you want in winterboard and stack them in the correct order

To do like mine:

PRO Script Carrier
PRO No Shelves
PRO Lockscreen
PRO

There is also a clock mode you can do, but you have to blank icon the top row of each page, which is annoying. Plus it is a little bit of a system whore.

On mine, I'm also running FiveIconDock.

To finish it off like mine, also grab the Ubuntu Titiling font from Cydia, and change the system font, note font, and phone font to Ubuntu.

I need a little help. I've got 2 Phones: 1 is upgraded to 3.1 and not jailbroken and the other is on 3.0 and jailbroken and unlocked. How do I jailbreak and unlock both of them witht he most current firmware that is out right now? (3.1.2 I think)

EDIT: Well i've got the firmware download for the jailbroken 3.1.2 but when I try to run it, it puts the phone in recovery mode and gives me error 1604. I've googled and looked around and I cant find a way around this and it ends up getting stuck in recovery mode and wont get out unless I do an actual restore off iTunes.

If on PC, you need to go ahead and do a restore in iTunes and upgrade normally to 3.1.2

After the phone is 3.1.2 you are going to use blackra1n to jailbreak it.

I tried Blackra1n before anything else and it didnt work. I t made the phone do the same thing it's done with every other method i've tried to jailbreak it with.

yeah not sure why blackra1n isn't working, and theres no guide for it either -.-; restoring to 3.1.2 and going to try again, but so far it gets stuck at Running... and doesn't complete in 30s at all
