so i've been reading that iphones made after week 40 have some kind of enhanced security rom called iboot, making jailbreaks more difficult. Is this going to be an issue with a blackra1n, and where can i find an enumerated thread on exactly what i need to do(as dumbed down as possible until i get some expertise) , i've been looking on modmyi, but I cant find anything on jailbreaking a phone that is brand new right now
edit: nvm, I've kept reading!
so i was able to jailbreak, really easy, and got the slingbox to work on 3g with no issues. my last question is: itunes pops up everytime the phone is plugged in, im on 3.1.2, after the jailbreak it says it needs to check the update server to identify the device, can I allow that or do i need to hit cancel?
im not sure about that, never heard of it, mine's never said that (jailbroken or not) you can probably allow it though
installed the new blackrain unlock and reinstalled the old mobile configs that used to work for tethering...works like a charm and eveything else works to. Nice that he got that fixed was missing my internet at work on my laptop since LOLnavy internet restrictions...
Considering you are the one giving misinformation, and also acting like a douchebag, you should be taking your own advice.
The iphone and itunes syncing is incredibly fast for a USB2.0 connection. I typically transfer 100-300files at a time, including movies documents and music, several gigs of information. Sometimes the process is faster than transferring them from one drive/location/folder to another one on the computer itself. If you experience otherwise, I'm sorry, but you are speaking as if from a general perspective with misinformation when that isn't actually what most people are experiencing.
Please stop shitting up my thread with incorrect information and the high and mighty attitude aimed at actual contributors to this thread.
Here's my home screen, although I change wallpapers almost daily. Love the delnoch themes, I hate homepage clutter. Anyone know any good programs/guides to do a 7 day forecast on the lock screen? I think Maguspk or someone posted a picture of one somewhere earlier in the thread.

Only reason I stopped using Delnoch is because Catagories is such a fucking resource hogSame reason I stay away from the iNavs. If I upgrade to a 3GS I might try it again though since it has better resources.
As for the lockscreen, you have a few options. Rock has one, but isn't free (Intelliscreen)
There is also Freemyhome, but I don't think you can alter the wallpaper on it.
I have a 3g, and I use a quick toggle to kill processes and free up some resources. I've thought about overclocking the 3g, apparently it works extremely well, but I'm a bit worried about diminishing the battery more quickly than I currently do, which is fairly quickly.
I got an app called wedapanel and it's the most amazing weather app I've eve seen.
nice find on the Wedapanel
So I'm now running a wedapanel Lockscreen and the modmyi official theme (modmyi hack of the iBlack theme)
The iblack/modmyi theme is really nice. Has a delnoch feel on the top and bottom, but with a great widget home screen. And works without catagories.
I love you i just rejailbroke and tried rock instead of Cydia, liked delnoch so I tried the knock off on rock but couldn't get it to workright since categories isn't working for me and a few other things.
Gonna try this out while I'm here at work
Edit. Not liking the modmyi theme gonna have to try the real delnoche later at home when I can ssh. Love that theme just hope categories will work for me. For whatever reason it would put the apps in the folders but they were still outside it in their normal places
Also try the iblack. It's pretty much the same as the modmyi, but darker of course. Or better, when reeco releases his iBlack mod which looks fucking sick.
Reeco is looking to release his iBlack mod tonight. Sucks, I have to study and I'll spend too much time playing with it getting it installed.
I went back to Glass Orb Color, it's simple and winterboard does it itself... I haven't SSH'd anything in a while (not since I uploaded a video from cycorder) and it took me a little while to get it going right (cause quicktime is gay). Not sure if I want to play with a theme for an hour to get it looking right when I can have a simple one just thrown on there.
Maybe when I'm less lazy.
Wedapanel - wĕdaPanel - interactive weather for the lockscreen
You have to either SSH or Diskaid the information to your iphone and edit the appropriate files so you are able to retrieve your local weather.
You should probably spend a little time researching the setup of some of the custom themes if you aren't familiar with it. Some can be a bit difficult to setup.
