Nice, thanks.
Time to do some planning then. After a bit of thought I may go with a 16gb phone and then a dedicated media device such as an Archos variant, we'll see.
(my current phone is nearly KOed)
Got a problem:
I downloaded an app on itunes, synced my iphone, app wasnt showing up. Looked it up on Phones app store, it wants me to buy it - yet it's already bought and downloaded on my iTunes.
I thought it might be due to jailbreak, so I restore iPhone. After restore, I click sync - I get an unknown error, stating:
The iPhone "Tim's iPhone" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-53).
I can't get any of my music or anything onto my phone now. All my contacts and shit are there, but none of my itunes music apps nothing. What do I do now?
This thread isn't really meant for this thread, however it could be due to jailbreak, if nothing works out you guys suggest I'll make a new thread in tech.
ok so I think I fixed it. The folder where photo's were stored either was changed not the same or missing. Selecting a new one fixed everything.
Pretty gay it just gives you an unknown error like that though.
So my mom has had a hard time getting a new cell phone, due to credit issues and I was planning on giving her my Sprint phone and switching over to my girlfriends AT&T account to get another iphone.
Should I go with the 3GS, or wait until applies conference which is coming up soon? Were there any rumors of a updated iphone even being released, minus the rumor of the verizon one?
Well, there is a big chance of news on the iPhone 4th gen phone. So far there has been a brand new iPhone every single year. And, if iPhone really is going to Verizon, there has to be a new model as Verizon uses a different type of cell network and requires some different hardware.
So it might be worth it to wait to see what happens tomorrow.
From reports so far, the hardware in the next iPhone is going to be a pretty serious upgrade, so I would wait, personally.
I couldn't wait til july for a possible announcement on a new iphone, since apple didn't announce anything at their last conference.
So I purchased a iphone 3gs 16gb, and I have 2 questions.....
1) I jailbroke the iphone using blackra1n, and everytime the phone reboots.... it goes into recovery mode. So I need to run blackra1n again to get it working.... does this mean i'm one of the iphones that requires I be "tethered"? If so, any work around?
2) I'm using a program called tapatalk which is a nice client for viewing internet forums. Only thing is forum owners need to sign up to be used on tapatalk. I saw BG isnt signed up to be view on this app.......... and was wondering who would I talk to about that? >.>
If you just bought it, then yes, it's a tethered Jailbreak only. Neither Blackrain or Redsnow have a work around. Apparently Geohot has figured out a way around the tethered jailbreak, but refused to release it because he lost the balloon challenge (yes, really)
Important notice, iTunes update today. It is Jailbreak safe.
And most important, it fixes the goddamn "remember my password" shit in iTunes again.
i was hoping to get an 32gb iphone 3gs next week, but after reading the last page in the thread it sounds smart not to...

about a possible new iphone coming out?
I was in the same boat as you, and did some research on the rumors....... and majority of the rumors do claim there will be a ihone announced sometime this year, but its going to be a verizon 4g iphone (as verizon is due to release their 4g network late 2010/early 2011... and its fitting for the 4th generation phone) but I havent found anything about a new phone coming to at&t. So if your locked into at&t like myself and girlfriend are, you could pick up a 3gs with probably no risk of it being replaced by a updated model.
Hmm, you sure? http://modmyi.com/forums/iphone-news...ot-update.html
I don't even really see a point in updating unless you're legit (then why are you in this thread?!) or have a 3GS...
itunes update is safe, iphone OS update is not. I don't use itunes enough to bother either way though.
As below, iTunes update = fine
iPhone update = VERY VERY BAD. 3GS is completely borked (and latest iPod) They stopped signing the 3.1.2 firmware on those.
iPhone 3G is still backwards jailbreak possible from the redsn0w 3.1.2 loophole......for now. If they stop signing the 3.1.2 for 3G it will die also.
Ohhhh, I guess by "iTunes update" you actually meant iTunes update lol. Carry on!
I'll be more clear next time![]()
