If so........ I always thought it wasn't needed, with the lack of not being able to run multiple applications on a iphone anyways. Yet, I guess you can fully close out a app by holding down the home button until a program force-closes instead of just tapping the home button to exit.

Anyone have any experience with Cydget? I keep hearing about it but I'm not finding it in Cydia, just the Cydgets. Would be nice to have a better lockscreen with meaningful shit on it.

Just download the Cydget you want and go to Settings and there will be a Cydgets folder to manage them.

IOS4 was released on iTunes today.

Works on iPhone 3G, 3GS, iPhone 4 and newer iPod touches.

If you installed the "leaked" ios4 GM rom a few weeks ago, then your all set because this rom released today is exactly the same.

I didn't look up any jailbreaks yet, but I know redsn0w on the Mac could jailbreak the GM leak

Werent the likes of the dev team / geohot holding back on releasing the unlock until OS4 comes out?

I need the unlock for any carrier as my Iphone is from the US but using it in Ireland for a network over here. Currently on 3.12 5.11.07 Baseband unlocked and jailbroken with blackra1n.

If its any help, I coudn't use my backup with this new OS...... It would load just fine, but 3g data just would not work.

It might have been due to my spirit jailbreak I had on my phone when I made the backup..... never know, I only lost my old text messages really.

As for unlocks, I have no idea. General rule of thumb for updates though, is to at least wait a week just to be 100% sure your unlock will stay.

I'd maybe go get it check out at a store? No problems here with the update, or any apps now.

Maybe put your phone in restore more..... and restore to iOS4 instead of just updating?

3G here, i was jailbroken & manually backed up / hit download&update which did an automatic backup as well / restored to 4.0 / restore "failed" but the phone was updated and i didn't lose my txts/contacts (all i really care about when it comes down to it). i'm pretty sure the fail was because there are a few cracked apps that got mixed into iTunes from older syncs. so far it's running nicely but i haven't really done much with it. worst loss for me is my shazham tags, oh well.

Well, there are 2 groups who have a jailbreak for the iphone 4 or at least a exploit to do a jailbreak. Nothing has been released yet.

Geohat has a exploit for all iphones/ipods/ipads that is supposedly unknown to other hackers, however he announced yesterday he has no plans on working on a iphone 4 jailbreak.

Quick question, I had 3G network on my data plan for tmobile on my G1, will 3G work on the iPhone ? or is it just spotty?
