Comprehensive iPhone Apps/Jailbreak Thread

4.3.2 came out yesterday. Nothing really important in it. Avoid it if jailbreaking. Redsnow will currently jailbreak it using 4.3.1 ispw, but it is tethered.

Anyone know a repository to dl folderenhancer free? The one I had apparently got pwned this morning. Ill probably buy it come Thursday but id like to ahve my phone back to normal till then.

Folderenhancer has a timebomb for cracked apps. You can't download it from a repo or it'll go off, the program checks to see where it was installed from.

only cracked app i have is lockinfo cuz it was pretty damn expensive, i'm probably gonna end up buying it eventually tho. if you do want cracked apps which like tyche said is not fully recommended you can get the sinfuliphone repo

If u manually load the deb for folderenhancer, and install it via ifile or ssh, folderenhancer works great

I recently upgraded my 3GS from 4.0.1 to 4.3.1 with a custom ispw and redsn0w. Feels good man, can download a few apps that required iOS 4.1, been bugging me lately.

I'm pretty much on the same boat as you with the same phone, upgrade and jailbreak from redsn0w. However I seem to have a problem with my signal strength displaying low bars rather than my usual full bars at home.

Just wondering if you might of been having this problem as well? I've been looking for a fix but so far can't find one.

Jailbroke my iphone 4 over the weekend, and I've been messing with Winterboard, but can't seem to get any folder mods to work. Specifically I've been trying to get This to work, but nothing changes when I enable it. What could be causing my issues?

edit: I found one that works, but don't really like the no border part of it. Anyone know a working folder mod that gives no background but keeps the border that's compatible with 4.3.2?

Question 1 and pretty much my main question.
With AT&T i have the old data plan for my Nokia E71x. The unlimited one for 30 bucks. Now if i try to upgrade will they force me to use a capped plan? I have learned that i can blow through 7-10 gigs worth of data in a month tethering. So im kinda weary to upgrade and get capped (its my only internet source at work).

Switching networks isn't completely ruled out yet. Just fishing around with my options.

Edit. Now that im looking at the picture i took(lol). I noticed the huge highlighted section thats Unlimited Text/Data. But i heard some where that the new data plans can fuck you over some where in the fine print.

But nobody will be forced to switch. If people are happy with their current plan, they can keep it, which I expect many to do. In fact, AT&T says that people "are not required to switch to the new plans if they renew their contract or switch to another smartphone. However, if they switch to one of the new plans, they will not be able to go back to their old, unlimited plan." No, you can grandfather your old plans in. My blackberry unlimited data plan got switched to a generic at&t unlimited data plan when I bought my iphone.

Ok Apple tv jailbreak questions I know this is iPhone but I'm sure you can answer. I really want to learn this.

First my apple tv is currently jail broken at 4.3.1 and only have xbmc installed

Apple release 4.3.2 for tv today so I got some questions

1) tried to save my shsh blob with tiny umbrella and it keep saying cannot save blobs you are too late.

When do I need to save the shsh so I don't get this problem???


2) I know it's only xbmc but can I save it so I don't have to reinstall after jailbreak?

3) when the new jailbreak is out. Do I need to a) upgrade to official apple then jailbreak or can I directly jailbreak??

4) my father also has an apple tv and he upgraded to 4.3.2 since he didn't saved his blobs and the jailbreak isisnt out for tv is he fucked or can he re jailbreak for 4.3.1???

you have to save Before the updates come out. Apple stops signing old blobs as soon as they push the new ones. Basically, idea is to save your blobs for a release as soon as it happens. Remember, you do NOT have to be on that iOS to save your blobs for it. My 4.3.3 blobs are already saved even though I'm still on 4.3.1

Well I was able to save my Ipad 2 4.3.3 and Apple TV 4.3 with tiny umbrella but i had to uncheck save to cydia for them to work

Also how can you save a blob for a higher firmware you dont have^

Because all signing the blobs is basically getting the signature for your ECID from Apple based off that firmware code. This code is static. The device itself doesn't need to be on the firmware, all you need is the signature that Apple sends that matches your ECID to the firmware version. It's 128-bit encrypted though, which is why you still need apple's signature and the jailbreaking people haven't been able to create a way to create their own signatures.

Noob question, but whats the benefit to jailbreaking since it seems like you have to go through a pain in the ass everytime the iOS is updated. And how difficult is it to jailbreak / set up your phone afterwards? Will I lose all my non-jb app saves and stuff and have to start over?
