Avoid the SIM cards like a plague. As said, it's very illegal.
BTW, thinking back on what you posted, you talked about wanting an unlock for international travel, but you do realize that you still are on AT&T network, right? Unlock doesn't mean you just get to use somebody else's network for free. Without actually having service from them, you still will get charged your international roaming from AT&T.
Of course. I'll be needing a local number there, I just figured I'd like to keep using my own phone.

Does anybody know about the 4.2.1 jailbreak for touches/iphones?
I have a 2nd Gen (I think? It's the 16 GB, no camera) Ipod touch and just within the last week, I've been given the option to get the upgrade so I tried it. I've jailbroken via greenp0ison and so far it seems really unstable, but I've read nothing about people have problems with it. Even with a clean install of the iOS, I've not been able to get Cydia loading and it seems like all my apps are taking forever to load.
Is my only solution just to downgrade? It seems like all the developers have stopped working with the last 3.x iOS which makes it impossible to get newer apps, and the 2nd gen doesn't get as many updates as the 4th gen, since it doesn't have retina display.
I highly suggest jailbreaking 4.2.1 w/ greenp0ison, so far it's the most stable 4.2.1 jailbreak i've used.
Looking at the websites, I'm pretty sure greenpoison is what I used.
Starting to feel like I just have a bad jailbreak since I had a few issues doing jailbreaking after not doing them for a few months. I had a few issues when I first jailbroke it, so I had to do a factory restore at least twice to fix issues. I guess I'll try to do it from scratch and not mess up this time.
I'm starting to think that one of the failed jailbreaks did some sort of permanent damage that is effecting the ability for new jailbreaks to work
Just tried to reset my ipod and now it won't turn on again after DFU reseting the ipod and starting a jailbreak. Might just end up gonig back to 3.x and seeing if that's stable when it turns on again.
Hold off on Jailbreaking your new phone until after the WWDC keynote this afternoon. It's widely known that iOS 5 is being shown for the first time along with when it's coming. It hopefully will have enough changes that some of the reasons people jailbreak will be addressed.

Unless iOS 5 is announcing free tethering (yes, I'm laughing) they will never stop jailbreaking them![]()
That is so very true~![]()
So I'm going to Jailbreak my phone w/ snowbreeze, but is there any sort of FaQ on what to do? I don't see anything on the website? Any tips? D:
any specific reason using snowbreeze? Only need to use that if you need to create a custom ISPW to preserve baseband for unlocking. Otherwise I'd just recommend using redsn0w. Works well and talks you through the process.
snowbreeze was suggested earlier in the thread, I'll go look up redsnow. Thanks!
Rumors that will surely be false but who knows
Lots of sites reporting that comex will release ipad2 jb today at 6:17:11 pm GMT which is around 2pm Est.
