iOS5 is not gonna make jailbreaking easy. Besides the reported earlier check being changed making shsh blobs useless, it seems now at least the OTA is doing an application check and will not install if jailbroken. (This is actually a good thing as it prevents accident OTA on jailbreaks.) But could come in to play on future changes (like...syncing?)

I would hope that Apple realizes that they'll lose if they find a way to kill jailbreaking. They've already lost a substantial number of potential customers to an android platform that continues to inflate. I'd guess they stand to lose more than they stand to gain, but what do I know? If it becomes impossible to even pull an untethered jailbreak, I'll be jumping ship.

sadly I don't think Steve jobs or apple for that matter really cares. They've always been take it or leave it type of company and with profits at an all time high thats not likely to change anytime soon.

Pretty much true, i'mma stick w/ my 3GS until they finally confirm a jailbreak for the next iphone and ios5. If nothing gets jailbroken i'm just gonna end up jumping ship to android and miss the solid OS that is iOS. lol I'll just end up picking up an ipad2 once that is fully jailbroken.

*sigh* fucking shit apple don't fail. I really don't wanna go to an OS that crashes consistently and freezes up plenty of times, on top of that lacks most of the fun apps. (I see androids way too much at my job, always with the same stupid issues.)

Just reworked my theme a bit, still can't figure out why I'm having trouble with the whole icon bundling thing...really annoying since manual icon changes are tedious as hell.

Had to make some new icons cause the pretty HD ones I was using really disappeared on light bg's and I didn't want the clutter of a background for them. Plus they didn't line up vertically which was really causing my ocd to flare up lol.

Is an iPad2 worth getting? Thinking about spending poker winnings on a tablet to mount on console/dash haggardly for the 45min trips to AC.

I think it's really close to being worth it, but still just not there for me. I still want some sort of off-line storage option. A USB port, microSD, something. Until they do that, I just won't be sold.

Sometimes at work I get the pleasure of a laptop mounted in the vehicle, and it turns out to be kinda nice... So an ipad leaned against my console for my hour trip down the parkway would probably be nice as well lol.

You can get a damn nice laptop for the price of an iPad 2 which may be more convenient overall. It really does depend on your setup and what you're doing though, the mobility of the ipad is unmatched by any small laptop.

I have an m11x but it isn't nearly as convenient and doesn't work as well mounted. Laptop for gaming and actual computing, ipad for fucking around.

Ever since I jailbroke my phone, anytime I try to use the regular app store for updates, ect... I always get the msg that my account has been disabled due to security reasons and I need to go through the entire process to unlock it. Happens everytime... is this normal w/jailbroken phones?

Yeah I have reset my pw like 5x. I update my apps every few weeks and have gotten it everytime.. have to go through the normals checks > answer security question > make a new pw > re-confirm billing info / address and re-do my CC security code.

I'll just call apple and get it figured out. Thought it was related to my jailbreaking, but guess not. Thanks Tyche

Anyone get redflagged on at&t for tethering......... without using a shitload of data?

Just got a email, and text message about tethering to a laptop... and how I need to change my plan by the 8th, or they will change it for me.

The kicker is.......... this month, i've used 2 gb of data.... last month was 1.8 gb of data... the month before that was 2.1 gb of data.

If they forcefully try to change my plan, can I cancel my account without paying a ETF?
