I've had the iOS5 GM on my phone for a while, it appears to be exactly the same (or at least it says I have the current version).

After the usual 3-4 hour shitfest I'm now running iOS5 and I have to say it's quite an improvement, my only gripe so far is something super stupid (even though it's really minor): why the hell can't you pack Newsstand into a folder?

Every time I try to update it brings back an error saying it failed to connect to the update server...It downloaded the ipsw just fine, but when it tries to install it fails...is it because the servers are getting slammed? idk, cause a bunch of people I know updated already just fine :\

It's because iOS recognizes Newstand as a folder already. For those who never plan to use it, I can see where it would be an annoyance to not even be able to stick it somewhere out of the way.

No Siri coming to jailbreak any time soon. They found the Siri code. It's all encrypted. So until a jailbreak is done to the 4s and the keys pulled, there will be no Siri on anything but the 4s.

Servers getting slammed, which throws the 3200 error.

Just keep trying, it will eventually go through.

I'm enjoying 5.0 right now, its kinda nice.

wtb jailbreak for iOS5. but so far i really like it, adds a lot of functionality to the iphone in push notifications and features

In the first piece of good news in getting Siri to iPhone4, iH8sn0w is reporting Siri is NOT compiled specifically for the 4s A5. So there is some hope. musclenerd's news that it looks like it will require privacy is not good news though.

For reference, the reason iPad 2 jailbreak took...well, forever, is because they couldn't release their earlier attempts without breaking piracy laws because they would have to release Apple code in the package.

iOS 5 is awesome, but like any Major upgrade, there currently is no untethered jailbreak, and some things (like winterboard) are still working out bugs and stuff if you do jailbreak. So upgrading is up to you, but I will till you I'm loving iOS 5.

Saurik updated Mobile Substrate this morning. I haven't updated yet, gonna make sure everything is OK first. I wish I had it last night, corrupted my phone with 5-cloumn springboard and had to restore. Not really going to do much customization wise to my phone until an untether is out because I don't want to have to redo everything.
