Interview was meh, comics were amusing.

Most useless answer ever:
In a related story, to defeat Absolute Virtue, you want to try multiple techniques, including, but not limited to: engaging, not engaging, healing, not healing, enfeebling, not enfeebling, nuking, not nuking, using ranged attacks, not using ranged attacks, using job abilities, not using job abilities, resting, not resting, using emotes, not using emotes, logging out, and not logging out.Q: What specifically can I do in order to keep Fragment-related NMs interested so they don’t depop?
Itou: Within the allotted time, you want to try multiple techniques, including, but not limited to: Inflicting status effects, using special abilities, avoiding the usage of special abilities, using magic, avoiding the usage of magic, using ranged attacks, avoiding the usage ranged attacks, inflicting large amounts of damage and kiting it.
XD Neat comic! With an incredibly stupid interview attached. Thanks Elmer, although I think the comic doesn't deserve such horrible treatment ; ;
¬.¬'Q: Salvage Gear has caused Wootz Ore to skyrocket in price. Do you plan on alleviating this issue through having it drop in other Dynamis zones, or perhaps lowering the amount required?
Itou: It’s possible that we will introduce new methods to obtain Wootz Ore in the next Version Update. The possibility is there, but it’s not set in stone.
Hello? You tied a completely unrelated event, Salvage, not only with Dynamis but with ONE single Dynamis area. Come on, do you people even bother looking at this game?
I'd say, maybe if people start sending micropayments they will start answering questions? Next interviews could go:
Q: Can you give us any solid info about item drops? For instance, how exactly was the rate increased during the September 9, 2008 update that raised drop rates?
Developers: We cannot give you any data regarding conditions or rates surrounding item drops, but if you buy this carbuncle plushie for $45 through the POL service, you will recieve this answer in your POL email as an incentive!
It's gonna be awesome.
PD: On second though, a nice carby plushie would be cool :3
Awesome interview, just what I always wanted. To be told exactly everything that I already knew about Dynamis.
Give me a break. Who in their right mind wants to spend MORE time in Dynamis? Hell, even in the CoP areas?Q: You stated in a previous interview that areas were not going to be adjusted to allow multiple groups to enter at the same time. Is there still no possibility of Dynamis seeing this kind of adjustment?
Itou: Making a system which would allow for multiple groups to enter one area simultaneously would require a lot of time. I believe altering the underlying system in such a fashion could take years. Alternative methods for allowing players more time in Dynamis could become a reality, and we will work on that.
Also, the fact that this bullshit answer probably also includes Limbus, which my group has been getting cockblocked on for months now after the price reduction, irritates me to no end. They did it with Assault for the most part! I'm just so tired of every Tom, Dick and Harry pickup group or new LS snarfing up all four Apollyons at once, or some JP pickup grabbing Xarc out from under my Dynamis group after we spend an hour negotiating with the other LS's to get that time slot.
I think this whole answer is "We don't want to."
For those argueing about drop rates being different on certain jobs, I seem to recall a post made before, I think it was from izzy from dynamisbums. Anyway, they kept track of every single AFs they ever got over the years, and all jobs had a similar amount of drops. RDM AF in xarc feels rarer than DRG or BST because every LS probably have 5 times more RDMs than they do DRGs or BSTs.
I'm curious to hear the JP reactions to this so called interview.
This interview lost any and all validity at this point. There IS a difference between the jobs, in that they have different drop slots. That changes the comparison of drop rates, no matter how you look at it.Q: Out of all the recently added relic equipment, it feels as if BLU, COR and PUP pieces drop a lot, but DNC and SCH pieces barely ever drop? Do the equipment drop rates differ by job, and does this extend to the already existing jobs?
Hayashi: There is no difference between the different jobs. The drop rates are all equal.
As for the question of instancing Dynamis: Bullshit. Even a half-assed coder should be able to port the instancing work they've done with other zones (Assaults, Nyzul, Salvage, damn near anything done recently) and get it working to SE Quality standards (i.e. none). If they're worried about server space/load, here's a crazy thought: Admit that your game is declining, despite the constant 500,000 reported active accounts (I guess Brogame's 14 day trial /tell bots count in this number), merge some servers, and use the extra hardware to power Dynamis.
Server limitations.

This is not true because you are making the assumption that each drop "slot" has the same probability of being activated. Ignoring the current question of which pool DNC AF is associated with, it's entirely possible to come up with a system that has effectively the same probabilities on individual AF pieces regardless of the number of "slots."Originally Posted by Tekumel
For example, and with arbitrary probabilities chosen for illustration and not accuracy:
Slot 1 (15 jobs' AF): chance of drop - 1/10 (10%) => chance of specific job's AF: 1/150
Slot 2 (5 jobs' AF): chance of drop - 1/30 (3.33%) => chance of specific job's AF: 1/150
Of course there's some additional modifier for each item within a pool, but there is nothing at all for us to believe that the probability of items within a pool are not equal in Dynamis.
Quite frankly, if the probabilities were skewed in any sort of noticeable manner, you wouldn't have such variation between linkshells' AF drops over the years. Our most common AF in Xarcabard is a Sorcerer's Petasos, with 29 received in the last 12 months alone. How many linkshells can actually claim a trend like that?
Considering the fact it's not only obvious but proven at this point, ToAU jobs have a higher probability of dropping something relevant just for the simple fact they only compete with 2 other jobs. That in itself ridiculously increases said drop rate of any ToAU job.
EDIT: Not drop rate per se', just anyone who's /seacom'ing a ToAU relic having a higher probability of getting what they want.
