All Worlds Maintenance (Apr. 8 )

At the following time, we will be performing maintenance on all FINAL FANTASY XI worlds to accompany the version update and the implementation of the new add-on scenario "A Crystalline Prophecy - Ode of Life Bestowing". During this period, FINAL FANTASY XI will be unavailable.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

* During the maintenance, we will be transferring the characters who applied for emigration between Mar. 17, 2009 5:00 (PDT) and Mar. 31, 2009 8:00 (PDT). All items up for auction and in your Delivery Box will be lost when you emigrate. Please make sure to collect these items prior to the maintenance. Any items in your inventory and Mog Safe will be transported with you to the new world. Please refer to the announcement "Suspension of Character Creation on Bahamut World (Mar. 17)" for more important details.

* This maintenance will be accompanied by a version update. After maintenance is complete, the update will automatically begin after you press the "Play" button. After that, please follow the instructions on the screen.

* The World Transfer Service will be unavailable starting 30 minutes before the maintenance. Please wait until after the maintenance is completed before attempting to use this service.

* You may receive errors such as "POL-1160" or "POL-0010" during the download process due to heavy server traffic. If you are unable to access the update, we ask that you please wait a while and then try again.

* New add-on scenario "A Crystalline Prophecy - Ode of Life Bestowing" will be become playable after the version update. For those who have already purchased the add-on scenario, please confirm whether the title of the add-on scenario is present on the FINAL FANTASY XI title screen after the version update is complete.

Obviously they shouldn't have to spell it out, but wouldn't it suck if your Storage and Mog Locker got screwed over?

I feel bad for people that bum rush updates xD..then again, it at least gives me an excuse to update my own Altanaviewer lists. Too bad you can't force the update anymore...or was that still unpatched?

Man I didn't keep my code like an idiot, and somehow cleared my POL mail, and I'll be fucked if I can get to my old email... hope we don't need to key in that code =(

Once you purchase the expansion, it should auto register for you, at least I thought. After I purchased mine, I content ID services to see what content I had registered, and all expansion packs showed up as registered including ACP.

Yeah it's actually pretty easy. One person does their update, then zips you their entire playonline directory, or does each ROM directory individually. Then they post a torrent so others can get the files. You download 'em, unzip them to the proper place, then let POL/FFXI do the update scan and you're done.

Do you still have the email they sent to your non-POL email address when you purchased the add-on?

As far as I know forcing the update was never "fixed". In theory, if the files are there (which they are long before the servers come up) checking files should still trigger those files to be missing. Of course there is nothing saying they couldnt do something to block that, but still I think it should work same as usual.
