    Pre-Haidate 6-hit build

    Hey all,

A friend of mine asked me today what would be the most efficient way to get a 6-hit build without Haidate. With Haidate i guessed it was just capped merits and Hachiman hands, but without?

I told him - Shinimusha Haidate, Ecphoria Ring and Chiv Chain? This would be swapping PCC for Chiv Chain and Ecphoria Ring for Sniper NQ. He has Rajas and is 4/5 Store TP Merits. Am i right in thinking this would be 1 Store TP short of a 6-hit until 5/5 merits? Any other gear suggestgions?

    Thanks for the help.

I'd go with Rajas/JSE Hands/Brutal. That is enough STP with capped merits for a 6 hit.

shinimusha, rajas, 5/5 merits is 6hit if you ws in it
with 4/5 merits, ecphoria and chiv indeed compensate if you ws in those
you need an average of 21 stp over the 6 hits, so if you take 5 STP out during WS you need to add 1 more during TP to compensate

Before I had Byakko's Haidate, I would TP in Myochin Haidate +1, Rajas, and Brutal (plus 5/5 merits). As this is 1 Store TP short of a true six-hit build, I compensated by WSing in the above plus Hachiman Sune-Ate to add enough Store TP to the WS to hit 100% on a WS plus five hits.

If your friend has the above available, he can compensate for his 4/5 Store TP merits with a Chiv Chain and Eco Ring, as stated in a previous post.

I preferred this since it was a slight upgrade to the melee set with the extra STR+5 from the Myochin +1. It sacrifices a bit on the accuracy in the WS set (compared to using Shura), but if current Y/G/K theory is correct, it shouldn't be a large factor during general use.

    Meh. Post all the gear.

Your friend's best bet is -most likely- to WS in a Domaru.

For TPing, with Shinimusha he's at 44 stp (46 if he gets his 5th merit), and the exact same value if he switches to STR legs and Hachiman Domaru. 46 on TP + WS gear is enough, so yea...he should really get that last merit. Until then, he's stuck TPing with Chiv+Ecphoria I guess, but in any case, my main point is nobody should be WSing in Shinimusha pretty much, because Domaru is a much better alternative (Domaru + AF1 pants > Osode+Shinimusha)

yes but Osode + AF+1 legs + hachiman feet works fine.

Out of curiosity, how much more WS TP would you need to TP in Fuma/Dusk or Askar + byakko and achieve 6-hit? (assuming not missing the WS)

Assuming Chiv chain, Brutal and Rajas, 450 delay, 5/5 store TP merits.

assuming 6-hit you need 5 stp on to account for 1 stp during tp converse 1 stp during tp means 5 less during ws, so since you at 7/11 stp for tp you need 20[5*4] stp during ws assuming u keep what u had during tp, so would need domaru +1, AF+1 legs, hachiman feet +1 for +19 so still need +1 somewhere else.

Sure, 'cept people are saying to WS in Shinimusha, which is bad.

People always say this, but it's only correct as a general guideline, and is incorrect in a vast majority of actual situations.
If you're TPing with 47 (16.9*5 = 84.5), and WSing with 44 (16.5), then you drop 1 STP from your TP set (46 stp), you only need to add 2 STP to your WS set, not 5. If you drop another 1 STP from your TP set (45 stp), you only need to add 2 STP to your WS set again, not 5.
