    Winzip

    So I've downloaded Winzip 12, now my "Evaluation period" is over, and it won't let me open zipped files without buying the real thing. Need a version of Winzip that won't crap out on me like that, anyone have?

    I take it youre not using Windows? Winzip is built in.
    And use 7-Zip

    Uninstall Winzip. If your version of Windows doesn't have the built-in zip folders functionality, download and install 7zip. In the future, don't download obsolete shareware when there's superior free alternatives. Here's a list.
